Coming to Terms
Being so utterly changed from what he was, Xander was unsure of how to deal with all of it without freaking out into insanity. After all, while he had to deal with alot of realllly weird shit this by far beat the cake. Beat them all to oblivion. In what way should he deal with being changed down to the genetic level, being given God like power unlike which he had ever seen. It was mind boggling on all level of existences, which he now knew all of them. How did one go about coping with something like that. Giles certainly didn't know as anytime he saw him, Giles would begin cleaning his glasses and stuttering. Dawn wanted him to do tricks anytime she saw him and all Buffy wanted was for him to take over slaying so she could be 'normal'.Pathetic.
None of that helped him at all and Willow was avoiding him so Xander was left mostly alone. So he did the only thing he could, use his powers to discover...stuff. Just using all of them to gaze into the universe or even just the planet. It was all really fascinating. Sure Xander used them to kill bad things but other then that, he used it for fun. To distract himself from facing reality. Hell, he briefly considered altering reality to suit that purpose but decided not to.
Soon after dealing with the Order and meeting the new Slayer, Xander was paid a visit by the Powers. As they needed to talk to him after he vaporised the Order without even a fight. He killed all Order members in the town and all others in the planet.
"Alexander, you have begun to fulfill your destiny, to become what you are destined to be. But there are others that have destinies that cannot be altered. You cannot interfering them." The Powers talked as one and were kinda echoey. Still Xander would not be sidetracked.
"What do you mean I can't interfere? I'm suppose to let be die, that's not in me to do. And what destiny are you talking about? What am I meant to do? Who chooses what a person is to do? You." The questions went on for some time and while it took some time and a lot of compromises on both of their parts, Xander finally agreed. He would use his probability power and premonitions to SEE what would be and not interfere in what needs to be done. The rest he would just do as he liked. Neither side was particularly happy with the arrangement but it was an agreement so Xander was allowed to 'wake up'.
The days that followed meeting the Powers saw a new Xander that was accepting of all that had happened. He was Xander and he was Pagan, nothing would ever change that now. And according to the freaking Powers it was his destiny, not that they told him what his destiny was. Only that it was huge and would encompass more than he could ever comprehend at this stage in his life. So he was in the dark about that for now and shockingly he was fine with that. Now was the time to focus on what was truly important. Like Dawn and his friends, compared to them nothing else mattered. Not to mention, the kiss he had shared with Cordelia.
Telling Buffy that he couldn't do her job for her wasn't fun, all she did was whine about how it wasn't fair. That he had all this power so Xander should have to do her duty for her. Which caused him to be disgusted by her completely. Buffy was the Slayer yet all she wanted to do was be free to party, make out with a vampire and just do anything but kill all evil. What that made her was not something he wanted to define and in desire to keep her as a friend decided not to. So all Xander did was turn and walk away, leaving her to rant at Giles about how it was all so unfair.
Heading home, Xander was greeted by an excited Dawn who told him about all her day. Her teacher had taught the class about dinosaurs and now Dawn wanted him to 'create' one for a pet. Xander said a very firm no and that was that, only to cave in quickly after getting the Puppy Eyes of Doooooommmmm. So he created a NICE raptor with no teeths or claws and a small pterdycal. Dawn was ecstatic and just jumped a round.
