He awoke to an odd taste in his mouth. In his tired state, his mind ran through sweet, mint, chemical. He smacked his mouth, trying to get rid of the taste, making a grimace as he rose for the day.
He looked about his room with a sigh. Why did he let her do these things? There was a beautifully decorated tree in the corner with brightly wrapped packages beneath it. There were strings of lights and boughs of greens gracing the walls. There was a menorah sitting on the mantle. He had argued with her about the menorah and the tree. Weren’t they mutually exclusive of each other? She had pouted and blinked her sweet green eyes at him, and the menorah and tree were set up. He just knew the other vampires and werewolves were laughing at him.
“Asher? Are you awake?” She walked in with a smile at her handiwork as she looked around the room anxiously. She always worried that he would tire of and remove all the decorations without her knowledge before the holidays were over.
“Willow, love, what is that you are eating?”
She held up a brightly striped red and white candy cane.
