Keyser, West Virginia was chosen at random from the list of cities and small towns on Wikipedia. I do not live there. I’m completely making everything there up (save what I find on Wikipedia). If you live there, and this offends you, I apologize.
“Our new case? Morgan asked. JJ flipped the screen on with the remote.
“Keyser, West Virginia. Five girls have gone missing in the last five weeks. Two were found four days after their abductions, dead, and with burns covering most of their bodies.” Pictures of a small brunette and an older blonde were on the screen. ‘Melanie Brooks, 13’ was under the brunette and ‘Sara Paulson, 15’ was under the blonde. “Another was found three days later, and is in the ICU.” ‘Karen Jackson, 12’ was under a picture of a small black-haired girl. “The last two are still missing.” ‘Patricia Johns, 15’ under a picture of a red-head, and ‘Martha Potters, 17’ under a picture of a brunette.
“What do they have in common?” Rossi asked.
“Each of them is in SWIC’s junior agent program,” JJ answered. “One of their Heads is going to meet us there.”
“Any suspects?” Reid asked.
“No, not yet, and Karen, the girl in the ICU, is refusing to speak to anyone until the SWIC rep gets there.”
“That closed off. How are they reacting to us being called in?” Hotchner asked.
“They’re the ones who called us.”
A few hours later, they arrived at the hospital where Karen Jackson was at. A blonde woman approached them.
“You must be the FBI guys,” Buffy said.
“Yes. I’m SSA Aaron Hotchner. And you are?” Hotchner asked, holding out his hand.
“Agent Buffy Summers,” she said, shaking it.
“You’re the SWIC representative?” Morgan asked, surprised.
“Yeah, why?” Buffy’s eyes narrowed.
“These are SSAs Derek Morgan, Emily Prentiss, David Rossi, Jennifer Jareau, and Dr. Spencer Reid,” Hotchner finished the introductions.
“I’d say nice to meet you all, but considering the circumstances, I’d rather we didn’t have to meet at all.”
“Have you talked to Karen yet?”
“Yeah. She was dazed cause of the meds they’ve got her on, but she did this,” Buffy said, holding up a sketch. “Kinda shaky, but she did the best she could.”
“JJ, get that to Garcia, and the local authorities.” Hotchner said.
They pulled up to a large house.
“Where are we?” Prentiss asked.
“SWIC house,” Buffy answered.
“Why are we here?”
“Demonstration. And possibly why our girls are really being taken.” A red-head answered the door before Buffy knocked.
“Alexx, right – Patty’s sister?”
“Yes, ma’am. She’s one of the missing. Did Karen say who did it?”
“We’ve got a description and a drawing, but not much else. How many are here?”
“Seven, including the five taken. There’s two more to the north, four to the south, and one to the west. The one’s coming here, while the others are meeting up.”
“Good, no one stays alone. Are you or the other girl here willing to do a demonstration with me?”
“Angie’s already volunteered,” Alexx said.
“Great. Get her for me, will you?”
“Yes, ma’am.” Alexx went upstairs, and another girl, a brunette, came down carrying a piece of pipe.
“Pass it around,” Buffy said, when the girl handed it to Morgan.
“Try and bend it.”
“It’s a pipe. I can’t,” Morgan said.
“Just try,” Buffy said. All of the BAU team tried, and failed, until the pipe made it to Buffy, who bent it into a pretzel shape.
“How the hell?” Buffy handed it back to the girl.
“Undo it or smush it?”
“How about both?” Angie shrugged, and squeezed until the pretzel-pipe was a crumpled ball, then tried to straighten it out as much as possible.
“So, questions?” Buffy asked.
“How did you do that?” Reid asked.
“We’re what’s called Slayers. Ominous, right? A couple thousand years ago, demons ruled, and a bunch of old men got together and decided to make a warrior. They tied a girl down, forced the essence of a demon into her, and made her the First Slayer.” The BAU team listened in horror. “Her name was Sineya, and each of us is connected to her. When she died, the essence passed on, calling a new Slayer. Each time a Slayer died, a new one was called. Then I came along. When I was sixteen, I was drowned, and then resuscitated. My death called Kendra, but I was still a Slayer. You guys see the Sunnydale sinkhole on the news? That was me and Faith, Kendra’s successor, calling all the Slayers possible to keep an army of uber-vamps and demons from overrunning the Earth.”
“Demons? Vampires? You can’t be serious,” Morgan said.
“I wish I wasn’t,” Buffy said.
“Shall I go get Clem then?” Angie asked.
“Clem? Clem from Sunnydale Clem? He’s here?”
“Yes, ma’am. I’ll go and get him.”
“That’d be great,” Buffy said, before turning back to the BAU team. “Clem’s a demon. I’m not actually sure what kind – it’s not really polite to ask.” Before any of the BAU team could speak, a loud voice called out.
“Clem!” Clem hugged Buffy tightly, before turning to the BAU team.
“Skin condition?” Rossi said weakly.
“Not-believers,” Buffy said. “Would you do your thing?”
“Sure Buffy.” Clem said. And then he let out his face tentacles.
