Chapter 3: Through the looking Glass.
Chapter 3: Through the looking glass.
October 31st, 1997:
Alice looked around in shock. One moment she was talking to her new sister while braiding her nieces hair when she felt light headed and almost seemed to wake up here. She knew she couldn't be asleep, she was a vampire, she couldn't fall asleep. So that left only a few options. One she was dead, two she was in some sort of illusion and three she had been transported somewhere. She really didn't think she was dead, this didn't look like heaven but then from all the screaming and demon like creatures running around it might be hell. She didn't feel dead though. Looking down she noticed with disdain she was not dressed in the stylish short blue dress and white long waterfall shrug. She was wearing the same outfit, or at least a almost identical imitation of the outfit she wore to the newborn battle over a year ago against Victoria.
“Where am I?” she asks, and gasped, her eye widening as she realized with shock her voice was a bit different. It was just as soft and beautiful, like bells yet it was deeper almost. Not a lot but noticeably different to the seer. She didn't feel that different, her body looked the same pixie like one, and she was still 4'10, well 4'11 in the boots she wore. What she did not realize was that while Buffy had always been this petite she had lost what little height she'd had and gone from 5'1 to 4'10 during the spell. Walking around she spun away from a green little demon that tries to attack her and hissed at it scaring it away almost instantly.
“Buffy!” a voice yells and Alice looks on confused as two people come to stand in front of her. One in dressed in a fashion tragedy, though it could be pulled off by a hooker, it was not flattering for such a innocent sounding girl. The girl had deep red hair which was straight and large green eyes. Beside her was a sounder, Alice admitted she was shocked to see a real gun on him. He was tall, 6'0 give or take but then the red head was taller then her to at 5'4.
“Buffy! Are you okay?” the redhead asked, looking right at her. Alice draws a blank and blinks. Was she supposed to be Buffy? It might explain why she was with Bella and Nessie and then suddenly in this strange place. Shaking that thought she watched as a monster comes back with a friend, and they both roar as they approach. Alice shifts some to prepare to get into a crouch to attack when Xander shoulders his M-16 again and takes aim.
“This could be a situation.” It really could, she didn't know where she was and she couldn't reveal she wasn't human to humans.
“Buffy, what do we do?” the redheaded one asks. Alice looks between the too and sighs.
“Buffy, I'm sorry my name is Alice,” she says and Willow spins around.
“What!” she shrieks and Alice steps back her ears ringing. Xander fires off a couple dozen rounds at the approaching monsters. They turn and run. Xander lowers his rifle as Alice looks at the girl in confusion as she sees the fear begin to grow in her green eyes.
“You've turned into you costume as well...but that means your..your a vampire!?” the girl yells and Alice gasps, shocked that the girl knows. Biting her lip softly she tries to look into her future. What she sees is a girl who while resembles her isn't her, but at the same time is a vampire surrounded by a older man, the two teens in front of her and a older man who was very cute, angelic looking almost. Coming out of it she takes a unneeded breath and nods.
“I am, what did you mean by costume? Where am I, who are you?” Alice asked. Willow looked at her friend in amazement. She looked so different and now she was a vampire. She was afraid but from what Buffy had told them Alice Cullens breed had souls and she was a vegetarian, a animal drinker.
“I'm Willow, this is Xander, only he doesn't know he's Xander. Your Buffy Summers, only you dressed as Alice Cullen for Halloween. I don't know where your from but in this universe your a fictional character,” she said. Xander looked between the two girls and then at the pale skinned beautiful black haired girl.
“Wait, she's a vampire? Where are her fangs?” he asked. Alice smiled and giggled behind her hand before shaking her head.
“That's a myth, our teeth are just really sharp,” she said, giving him a full blown grin, flashing her sharp while teeth at him. For some reason Xander felt a shiver of real fear before shaking it off. Willow shuddered as well and sighed before looking around. She didn't bother to correct Buffy or Alice on her statement.
“Breathe, okay, breathe.” Willow turns to Xander. “How are we supposed to get through this without the Slayer? I mean these are kids we can't kill them!”
“What's a Slayer?” Xander and Alice ask at once. A monster comes around the tree behind Alice and roars, fangs bared and claws raised to attack. It struck her on the arm, shredding her sleeve a bit and breaking a claw, yelling in pain. Alice growls and back hands it as gently as she can away. It fly's back ten feet before landing on its back.
“I'm not gonna comment on that. I suggest we get inside before we come across anything...”
“A DEMON! A DEMON! A DEMON!” A blonde yells running by as she points at a sport utility vehicle comes driving down the street with its headlights on.
“That's not a demon. It's a car.” Willow mutters, shaking her head at the running Harmony.
“Is that woman insane?” Xander asks and Alice snorts softly, she wouldn't be surprised.
“She's never seen a car.”
“She's never seen a car?” Xander asks.
“Even I find that hard to believe,” Alice muttered, shaking her head at the poor deprived girl.
“She's from the past.”
“And you're a ghost.” Alice looked at the man, Xander shocked before looking at the girl.
“Your a Ghost?” she asks. Willow sighs and nods.
“Yes! Now let's get inside before something else goes wrong.”
“I just want you to know that I'm taking a lot on faith here. If that girl tries to take a bite though I'm gonna shoot her. Where do we go?” he asks and Alice chuckles.
“It wouldn't do much good Soldier and I won't bite you, vampire's honor,” Alice says, almost teasing.
Willow ignores this and thinks of where they could go. “Where's the closest...” She smiles as she realizes Buffy's house was most likely empty. “We can go to a friend's!” Willow says as she leads then to the Summers house.
Xander opens the back door and scans the room.
“Hello? Mrs. Summers?” Willow asks, as she walks in. “Good, she's gone.”
“Do you need a invite bloodsucker?” Xander asks as he looks down at the vampire girl. Alice smirks up at Xander and shakes her head before gracefully slinking in the front door and going to stand in the middle of the kitchen. Xander closes the door behind her.
“Nope!” she says, popping the p before looking around.
“Where are we?” she asks.
“Your place. Now we just need to...” There's a banging at the front door. Xander goes to investigate, and
Willow and Alice follow.
“Don't open it!”
“Could be a civilian,” Xander tells Willow.
“Or a mini demon,” she snaps and Alice’s eyes glaze over and she sees a blurry image of a tall brunette in a cat costume running along. She comes out of it feeling slightly dizzy, her head hurting even though technically she shouldn't be able to get headaches. The only other time she'd felt like this was when Bella had been pregnant with Renesmee. Shuddering she turns to Willow.
“He should go, a girl in a cat costume will need his help,” Alice spoke. Xander looked at her and raised a eyebrow.
“How do ya know Deadgirl?” he asked and Alice rolled her eyes.
“I had a vision, now scatter soldier,” she snapped and as he left through the door she notices a picture on a table and goes over to look. She picks it up, and sees it's of her – not her-her but of her current body only human - wearing a spaghetti strap top. She turns around as Willow comes over to her.
“This... this could be me. It is me, the me, this Buffy girl,” Alice says, silently wondering what kind of name Buffy was. If it was short for something. She sort of hoped for this girls sake it was.
“It *is* you. Buffy, can't you remember at all?”
“I'm sorry Willow, I'm not Buffy right now. I don't know what is going on, but I know I'm not Buffy, I'm Mary Alice Brandon Cullen, I'm a vampire and seer, that’s all. I'll help you though, I want to go home and I'm sure where ever Buffy is she wants to too,” Alice said, smiling and she breathed in moaning as the scent of blood flowed into her nostrils. Her throat burnt worst then it ever had and she was sure it was this bodies left over scent. The vanilla, jasmine and raspberries.
Alice pushes this aside as she smells Xander coming back with another warm blooded body. She cursed herself for not having feed in a week. Xander and Cordelia quickly come in through the door.
“Cordelia!” Willow yelled.
“Wait a... What's going on?”
“Okay, your name is Cordelia, you're not a cat, you're in high school, and we're your friends. Well, sort of.” Alice watched in amusement as Willow rambles on to the new brunette who was very beautiful. She reminded her a little of Rosalie in stance and beauty.
“That's nice, Willow. And you went mental when?”
“You know us? You didn't turn into your costume like us?” Alice asked, looking at the cat lady confused.
“Yeah. Lucky me. What's with the name game?”
“A lot's going on,” Willow said.
“No kidding. I was just attacked by Jo-Jo, the Dog-Faced Boy. Look at my costume! Do you really think that Partytown's gonna give me my deposit back? Not on the likely.” Xander has taken his shirt off and puts it around her shoulders.
“Thanks,” Cordelia says, confused and shocked at Xander's gentlemen act.
“Okay. You guys stay here while I get some help. If something tries to get in, just fight it off.” Willow looks at each of them and Alice smiles.
“No worries, I won't let anyone get hurt,” she says and Cordelia snorts.
“What is going on!?” Cordy asked.
“Everyone has turned into their costumes. Xander is a soldier and Buffy...she's a vampire, but a good one. Now stay here, I'll be back as soon as I can,” Willow states and walks off behind Cordelia who glares at the spot the redhead once was.
“Who died and made her boss?” Cordelia asks and Alice giggles.
“I think she did,” Alice answered. Cordelia looked at Buffy and her eyes widened. She was beautiful, and she wouldn't recognize her if it wasn't for knowing the girl so well, well well enough to know it was her under the costume.
“Wait, did she say you were a vampire!?” Cordelia yells.
