Chapter One

Disclaimer: I don’t own anything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel or Harry Potter.

A/N: Like in the Quortoth world, time will move slower in the Harry Potter world than it does in Angel’s world. It is also in a different time.

England 1981

Daniel Holtz fell through a portal and to the ground. The baby in his arms began to cry. Holtz slowly got up and looked around. It certainly didn’t look like a hell dimension, as the demon Sahjhan has said. It looked like the same as his world. There were houses and cars everywhere. The only real difference was the way the cars and houses looked. It looked more like he was in England.

Holtz noticed a man walking on the street. He went over to him. “Excuse me, my good man. I appear to be a bit lost. Can you tell me where I am?”

“Of course. Godric’s Hollow,” the man said.

Holtz noted the man’s accent. It seemed he was correct about their location being in England. “And the date?”

“July 31.”

“The year.”

“!981, of course,” the man replied.

Holtz thanked the man. He began to think about what must of happened. Either they were in a world much like their own and twenty years in the past, or they were simply in the past.

He looked down at the crying baby in his arms. Either way, there was no need for the child anymore. His only purpose had been to hurt Angelus. Holtz was sure he’d done that by jumping though the portal. Angelus would never find the child, so there was no reason to keep him.

Holtz approached one of the houses and placed the baby on the doorstep. He then walked away, ignoring the baby as he cried.

James Potter sat on the couch consoling his grieving wife. They’d just lost their son. The baby died minutes after being born. Both he and Lily were devastated.

“What are we going to do, James?” Lily asked crying.

“I don’t know, Lils. I just don’t know,” James said as he tried to keep his own emotions under control.

Soon, the couple heard a faint crying from outside. “What was that?” Lily asked.

“I’ll go check it out,” James said as he got up from the couch. He went to the door and opened it. “Bloody hell,” he said shocked. Laying on the step was a baby boy wrapped in a blanket. Who would leave a baby on a doorstep at this time of night? Who would leave a baby on the street period?

The baby continued to cry, prompting James to pick him up. “It’s okay, little guy. I’ve got you.” James felt his heart melt as he held the small child. This should be his son. The boy that he and Lily were supposed to watch grow up into a man. The child that would never have that chance.

Suddenly an idea formed in James’ head. This could be that child. Okay, so technically it wouldn’t be, but no one had to know that. He and Lily could raise this baby as their own. He could take away his wife’s pain. The boy was young enough that he could pass for a newborn. He could erase Lily’s memory of the other boy. No one else knew besides Dumbledore, and he could easily convince the old wizard. This boy could become his.

“James, is everything alright?” Lily asked from the other room.

“It’s fine. I’m coming, Love,” James said. He then brought the baby inside and closed the door.

Los Angeles 2002

Angel walked slowly into the Hyperian hotel. He could hardly believe what happened. His son had been taken through a portal to God only knows where. He had to find him and soon. For all he knew, his son could be in a place like Pylea. He couldn’t let him stay there. He had to find him.

“Angel?”

Angel looked up and saw Lorne, Fred, and Gunn standing there.

“Angel, what happened?” Fred asked

“That demon, Sahjhan opened a portal. Holtz jumped through it with Connor,” Angel said unusually calm.

“Oh, God,” Fred cried. She knew what it was like to fall into a portal. It was horrible for a grown person, let alone a little baby.

Gunn put his arms around his girlfriend. “It’s okay, baby.”

“It will be because we’re going to find him,” Angel said. He refused to believe that his child was gone. He wasn’t going to give up until Connor was home.

“Do you know where the portal led to?” Lorne asked.

“No, but we’ll have to find out,” he said.

“Angel, do you have any idea how many different dimensions there are in the world. There are hundreds. It’ll take forever to-“

“I don’t care!” Angel screamed. “I don’t care if it takes years. I’m not giving up on my son!” He then stormed to the office without another word.
