I don't own the labyrinth or Buffy the vampire slayer. I got the idea for this story from Fading Memories. It was written by Lucinda. If you want to read it you can find it at fanfiction.net. This is my first story so tell me if you like it, or if you have any idea's for it. Thank you. I have decided to put this in the second season. It will be a AU so please enjoy. Review please.
Willow was in the attic with her mom. For no reason what so ever her mom had decided she wanted to clean out the attic. The attic wasn’t very messy, but there was a lot of old clothes, books, and some old toys. Willow still couldn’t believe that her mom actually found the time in her busy schedule to do this, she was usually busy promoting a new book or giving a lecture on child behavior. Her mom usually left things like this up to her. But for some reason she had come home from her last book signing, saying she wanted to clean out the attic. So together they grabbed some cleaning supplies and went up to the attic.
So mom what made you want to clean the attic? Willow asked. She put some of her old toys in the donation box.
Well I just thought that it was past time to clean it, and it let’s us have some time together. I mean we spend so little time together, and we haven’t just talked in so long. Shelia said. She felt bad that she and Ira left Willow alone so much.
I know mom but you do important work. Willow said.
"That doesn't mean we should leave you alone so much." Shelia said. "It's not right for a girl your age to be left alone so much."
“Mom when do you and dad leave for the conference in New York?” Willow asked. She had wanted to change the subject, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to spend time with her mom, she just wanted to make sure that her parents were gone before Buffy came over to take her to the library.
“Soon. The taxi will be here any minute, ” Shelia said. “I’m sorry that I can’t stay to long, but it is important for your father and I to go."
“Its okay mom, I don’t mind it.” Willow said. And she had meant it. She liked it when her parents went on their trips. It meant that they were safe from everything that went on in Sunnydale, especially now that Angel had become Angelus. Since then the streets of Sunnydale had gotten more dangerous for all of them. “You‘ll be back before you know it. Hey I never saw this book before. Where did you get it?"
Shelia turned to look at what her daughter was looking at. It was a thin red book with gold letters on it, there was no author on it.
“I don’t know." Shelia said as she took the book from her daughter. Opening the book she saw a name on the inside the cover Lauren . “I remember now, an old roommate of mine gave that to me before I came to Sunnydale with your father.”
“Can I have it? It looks interesting.” willow said as she watched her mother close the book.
“Sure. I don’t see why not.” Shelia said as she handed the book to Willow. “Well I better make sure that your father finished packing everything we need.”
Shelia quickly grabbed the box of old clothes, and toys, they were going to donate. Willow quickly put the book in her back pocket, then grabbed the bag of trash, and followed her mom out of the attic.
As soon as her parents left, the house, Willow quickly made herself a sandwich, and got herself a drink, before sitting down on the couch. Looking at the clock on the wall she saw that she had a half-hour before Buffy came over, so that they could go to the library before she went patrolling in the cemeteries. Wondering what she could do until then, she looked around the living room her gaze falling on the book she had brought down from the attic, she had put it in the bookshelf. Putting the sandwich down on the napkin on the coffee table she walked over to the bookshelf and took the book out. She went back to the couch and started to read it. She was so absorbed into the book that she didn’t hear the knocking at the front door. When the knocking got louder and more insistent she heard it, and went to answer the front door.
“Oh hi Buffy.” Willow said as she opened the door.
“Hey Wills is some thing wrong?”
“No I was caught up in this book that I found in the attic.” Willow said as she opened the door further to let Buffy inside.
“It must be a good book then. What is it about?”
“Its about this princess who wishes her brother away to the goblins and she has thirteen hours to solve this labyrinth to get him back, or he becomes a goblin.”
“Why did she wish him away in the first place?” Buffy asked as she sat down on the couch.
“Because she was tired of being bossed around by her stepmother, and the kid was spoiled by his mom. So he cried all the time.”
“So why did she go through the maze for him?”
“Because no matter what he did she hadn’t meant to say the words.”
“Makes sense. So you ready to go to the library?”
“Let me get my coat.”
“Great.” Buffy said as she watched her friend go up stairs to get her coat. Seeing the book that Willow was reading she picked it up and opened it to a random page. Looking at a picture in the book she saw a man with wild blond hair, his eyes were different colors. One was a bright blue, while the other was a dark brown. He was dressed in a white poet shirt that was opened almost to his waist, he had a black vest on top of his shirt. She saw that he wore some gray tights. He was sitting on a throne with a riding crop in his hand, the way he sat on his throne it seemed that he had nothing to do. Looking more closely at the picture she saw that he was surrounded by many odd creatures, but what caught her attention was the little baby in the middle of the room. The little boy had blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a white jump suit. Hearing willow's footsteps on the stairs, she quickly closed the book and put it down.
“Ready.” Willow said from the stairs.
“Great lets go.” Buffy said as she got up from the couch and went to the front door.
