Lilac River

Vi Renyolds bounced around the corner, and strolled over to the group waiting near the exit.

“Hey guys. Ready to go?”

“Violet Elizabeth Renyolds, where do you think you are going?”

Vi turned, big Sam-Winchester-inspired puppy dog eyes firmly in place.

“On the mission?”

“Not bloody likely!”

“Please, Daddy! I could totally deal… I mean, I wiped the floor with Jayne yesterday.”

The Merc snarled. Vi sniggered. Will tapped his best friend on the shoulder. Gunn turned to him quickly and then frowned.

“It’s almost time.” he said.

“There is one more to come.” sighed Will.

“The last of the Lilac fighters.” said Gunn.

The two boys shook their heads furiously.

“Bloody Powers.” They said in unison, as Vi raised an eyebrow.

“Last of the Lilac fighters?” questioned Liam.

“The Initiative was Project Lilac.” said Willow.

“It better not be Riley.”

“Nah. I think it will be one of his friends. Forrest, maybe, or the other guy.”

Rona smiled.

“He’s here.”

A boy came staggering up into the cargo bay and fell at River’s feet.

“Graham!” gasped Willow.

River looked at him in a way that was eerily reminiscent of Illyria.

“He’s broken inside.” She said.

“Just like me.”

“Oh, bloody buggering hell.” snapped Spike.
