Chapter 2

Disclaimer: Still down own any of the character.

Hope you guys enjoy this chapter. I was re-reading it and realized that I hated it, so I totally redid it, and I think I like it better now...We'll see if you guys do too!

“Okay, Renessmee, are you ready?” Bella called up the stairs. A moment later she was standing next to her mother. Dawn laughed and walked to the door, pulling out the keys and holding them to her right. Bella whizzed past her grabbing the keys and heading out to the car. She, Dawn, and Renessmee where headed out for a long day of shopping. Bella was not exactly excited, but she was resigned to accompany Dawn and her daughter.

“Come on, Dawn!” Renessmee called from the Garage. Dawn sighed as she walked at a human pace to the car.

The ride to the mall was about three hours, so Dawn settled in for a long ride. Bella had rented a hotel room for the weekend and Renessmee could not stop talking about how much fun they were going to have. It was supposed to thunderstorm all weekend long so there would be no problem with them shopping. Dawn was excited to buy a whole new wardrobe.

Leaning back in her seat Dawn thought about the past…..

She smiled to herself as she remembered the Cullens arguing over what they were going to do with her. Carlisle and Esmee wanted to help her, Rosalie wanted her gone, Emmett wanted whatever made Rosalie happy. Edward didn’t care, but he did make a point of reminding the entire family of the Bella situation. And how just knowing about them had put her in so much danger.

Dawn still didn’t really know what the “Bella Situation” was, but then again she had never really asked because she had not wanted to remind the family of how ’dangerous’ it was.

Eventually, after Carlisle and searched for Dawn’s family and they had came to the conclusion that the portal her sister had pushed her into had not just transported her to the other side of the world, but into another dimension. It only took Dawn a few hours to figure out that the whole family was made up of demons. Carlisle kindly explained to Dawn that they were vampires.

That was how Dawn knew for sure that she was not at home anymore. After the family had listened to her past and realized that she had no where else to go, it was decided that she would stay with them.

This had made Dawn very happy since she had no money and no where to go. She had grown very attached to the Cullen family since crash landing in their laps.

“Come on Dawn! There is no way you can be tired! We’ve only been here for,” Renessmee looked down at her fancy new watch, “seven hours!”

Dawn smiled at the girl’s enthusiasm.

Bella shook her head and agreed that seven hours was much too long for a human to shop. So Bella called Dawn a cab and continued shopping with her daughter.

Dawn let a long sigh out as she relaxed back on the bed, content to simply lie still for a few moments.

It was only their first day in the city and Dawn was already exhausted. She smiled remembering how many bags of things that Renessmee had carried around before Bella mentioned that people were starting to stare. After that they had unloaded their bags in the car and headed back for more shopping.

Dawn had bought a load of new clothes and had gotten her nails done. She had needed an excuse to sit for a while so she had got a full manicure and pedicure. Speaking of which….Dawn lifted her head to look down at her toes. She smiled and wiggled them, but was interrupted by a knock at the door.

She frowned. She couldn’t think of who would be knocking. There was no one around who knew where they were, or even that they were where in town. So who could it be? Dawn pushed herself off the couch and walked quietly on the rug.

She peered out the peephole, but didn’t see anyone.

Sighing, she did something that Edward would yell at her for and opened the door.

“Stefan?” Dawn whispered.

“Hello, dear,” Stefan smiled down at her. “May I enter?”

“I, you…ummm…sure?” Dawn mumbled, stepping aside.

She closed the door softly and watched him pace into the room and look around. It was a nice hotel and from where he was standing he could see the living room area and the kitchen with it’s barstools and rock styled top. He walked farther into the room, probably spotting the four seasons balcony with the Jacuzzi and flat screened TV.

Dawn followed him as he walked toward the extra plush couch and took a seat.

He turned his eyes on her, and she noticed that they were just as red as ever. She shivered when those red eyes delved deep into hers.

“You smell as wonderful as ever,” Stefan announced suddenly.

Dawn smiled, but suddenly frowned. “What are you doing her Stefan? I thought you left England months ago?”

“Ahh, but I did. Something seemed to have pulled me back.”

A mysterious smile covered his face, and Dawn suddenly remembered how intoxicating hansom he really was. Though she had to admit that every vampire in this dimension that she had seen had been beautiful.

“So you enjoyed England?” Dawn asked quietly.

“Something like that,” Stefan mumbled.

Dawn suddenly realized that her feet where killing her. She had been rudely interrupted from her rest by the handsome vampire now sitting on her couch. Well not really HER couch, but still.

She walked over and plopped down on the couch as far as she could from Stefan. His eyebrows shot up when he noticed this.

“Are you still afraid of me, young one?”

Dawn sighed but didn’t answer she simply lifted on foot and began to rub the arch. Suddenly her foot was no longer in her own hands. Soon she was turned sideways, moaning as Stefan rubbed her feet. She cracked her eyes open a bit to see him ginning at her. She choose to ignore it for now, not wanting him to stop. It felt amazing, as he rubbed slow circles with his thumbs on the bottoms of her feet. She couldn’t remember the last time anyone had rubbed her feet.

“Go out tomorrow night with me,” Stefan asked suddenly.

Dawn was so far gone that she could hardly open her mouth to answer. She opened her mouth, but then didn’t know what to say. She was scared of him. Wasn’t she? Now she just did not know.

“You’re not going to eat me are you?” Dawn asked.

“Of course not.”

Dawn could hear the smile in his voice, and wondered if it would be a smart idea to go out with a human blood drinking vampire. But she needed to answer soon because she was slowly drifting off to sleep.

“’kay,” Dawn mumbled as she drifted in to unconsciousness.

The phone rang only once before Edward answered. The whole family looked up to listen, wondering why Bella had called home so soon.

“Hello, Bella,” Edward murmured into the phone.

Without even a hello, Bella dropped a bomb on them, “Dawn is gone.”

All eyes in the Cullen house grew big.

“What do you mean she’s gone?” Carlisle asked from across the room, knowing that Bella would be able to hear him.

“It’s all my fault,” Bella said sadly. “I thought she would be fine. She got tired of shopping, so we called her a cab and waited with her until it arrived. She was headed back to the hotel, but when we got there all her things were gone and so was she!”

“Okay, calm down Bella. Was there a note?” Carlisle had taken the phone from Edwards hand, and was now pacing the room.

“No, we looked everywhere. This is all my fault, I’m so sorry Carlisle.” Bella whispered. “There is something else.”

“Please, Bella do not apologize we will find her. What is it?”

“There was a vampire in our hotel room. I could smell it, and I don’t know who it was,” Bella announced.

Eye brows rose all around the room as Edward took the phone back from Carlisle. He and Esme were having a quiet conversation about what to do in the corner, and across from them Jasper and Emmett were trading looks while their wives tittered about what could have possibly happened.

“I know that she is danger prone, but this seems to be a bit much even for her,” Bella murmured over the phone.

After a long conversation about what would be done, the family decided that they would head out and meet at Bella’s hotel room in a few hours. They would search the city for Dawn, and see what could be turned up. The most pressing issue was to find out if any of the family could recognize the scent in the hotel room. That way it would be made evident if they were dealing with friend or foe. Carlisle had brought up the question of Dawn running away, but Edward announced that she had never once thought about it that he had heard.

Alice sighed and wished that she could see Dawn’s future. It was frustrating not being able to see anything were Dawn was concerned. From the moment Dawn had fallen into their bathroom years ago she had been a blank slate to Alice. A mystery to her.

Carlisle believed that it was due to the fact that she was not from their dimension, but sometimes she wondered if there wasn’t something else.

Dawn stretched and snuggled closer into the silky smooth sheets and fluffy pillows that surrounded her.

“I had hoped that you would like the accommodations of my private jet.”

Dawn smiled at the sound of her dream voice. It seemed like for the last few weeks it was the only thing she dreamed about, that and bright red eyes.

“Dearest Dawn, when will you wake up?” The voice was closer, whispering in her ear.

Her eyes popped open.

“W-what?” Dawn lunged up, nearly hitting her head on the red eyed vampire who was peering over her. She scooted back on the bed as far as she could go. She looked down to see that she was wearing a beautiful nightgown that she did not remember putting herself into. Suddenly all fear disappeared to the back of her mind as she realized that this man, no vampire had changed clothing!

“What do you think you were doing?” Dawn said, poking him in the chest. It sent a ping of pain of her arm, but she didn’t care. “Did you look?” She asked suddenly timid.

He did not look one bit abashed as he brushed her hand away and said, “It is very difficult not to look at someone as beautiful as you.”

Dawn blinked a few times, suddenly forgetting why she was upset.

“I don’t care how beautiful you believe me to be! It is very rude to do such things!” Dawn yelled in his face.

She suddenly wished that she had stayed in the bed and continued to sleep. Dawn watched as Stefan walked closer to her, his face had gone from amused to angry in no time flat.

“And it is very rude to speak to me in such a manner. I will not tolerate such behavior!”

“You can not command me!” She yelled back

“No one yells at me!”

“Oh, why because you are so high and mighty?”

“No one speaks to me in such a manner. You will learn to treat me with respect; the respect that I deserve.”

“You deserve nothing from me.”

Dawn huffed and turned her back on him. She was seized from behind and whipped around to face a very angry vampire. His red eyes were flashing between black the deepest red.

“No one has spoken to me in such a manner in centuries,” Stefan whispered harshly in her ear.

Dawn opened her mouth to tell him that he had better get used to it from her, but cold hard lips suddenly met hers. She stiffened, but was surprised by how gentle he was with her small, delicate body. He could easily crush every bone in her body, but instead he was clutching her as if she were a glass doll. He clung to her as if she was special, beautiful, his.

Dawn gasped and pushed away. He let her move away from him, but did not let go of her arms.

“Where a-are we going?” Dawn asked, a hand clutching her lips.

Stefan stared at her for a moment before turning and heading for the door. “Home.”

Dawn stood still as he exited, and listened hard as she heard the door click and then lock. Dawn looked around the room and when she found the window that showed only Ocean for miles around, she knew she was in a tight spot.
