Warning: none that I can think of.

A/N: I know so little about Bleach that it isn’t even funny. Sorry if this is completely messed up.

Soul Society

Yachiru Kusajishi, Kenpachi’s lieutenant for Division 11, was just walking along when a body suddenly appeared in Soul Society. Taking a closer look, he seemed rather harmless, but you never could tell with strangers. She picked up a stick and started poking him. “Oniichan*, wake up!” she ordered insistently.

Pushing away the stick roughly, Jonathan opened his eyes, slightly surprised that he wasn’t in the basement of Sunnydale High anymore. The last thing he remembered…

Why would Andrew kill him? And how was he here if he was dead?

Okay, sure, they weren’t as close as Andrew was to Warren, but that was some weird villain-worship Andrew had going on.

On the other hand, Sunnydale felt worse when they came back. The evil in the air was almost tangible as they were clearing the dirt off the seal. Maybe it affected Andrew somehow.

The little girl with the stick was poking him again, telling him to get up.

“Where am I?” Jonathan asked gently, not wanting to scare her.

Her eyebrow rose at the question. If he was dangerous, she’d give up sweets for a week. But she still had to decide what to do with him. “Come with me,” she ordered. “You can’t be in our division because Ken-chan would destroy you, but maybe Ukki would be willing to help you. He’ll know where you should go.”

Since she wasn’t giving him much of a choice, Jonathan just got up and followed her. Maybe this new place – wherever it was – could be his second chance to do the right thing. Or was it third chance now? “Is this the afterlife?” he asked, suddenly remembering his earlier thought about being killed.

“Answers later!” was all she replied, picking up her speed.

Her non-response told him what he wasn’t sure he wanted to know. He was dead, but the afterlife was very different from what he imagined of either heaven or hell. Then again, the energies from the seal might have sent him to a different dimension.

One where he could try to be a hero…or at least not a villain anymore.

A/N: *the Japanese honorific for a male stranger same age/slightly older than you. Ukki is Yachiru’s nickname for Jūshirō Ukitake, captain of Thirteenth Division.

Tomorrow’s (hopeful) fic: Kendra/Star Wars.
