There are any number of things which are considered fairly routine by the members of the Reformed Slayers and Watchers Council – renegade warlocks or witches trying to take over the world for their own nefarious purposes; demonic cults attempting to reopen previously sealed dimensional gateways to allow their deity or deities to return and grind the human race (and any other species aside from themselves) under their heel; cross-dimensional demonic armies trying to invade our own dimension in order to gain access to either slaves or depleted or inaccessible resources, or just power-hungry vampires or other demonic forces seeking to reign terror, chaos and destruction throughout the areas in which they reside, for no purpose other than the simple fact that they could do so.

So, it really didn't shock anyone overly much to have yet another shimmering purple dimensional gateway open up in the evening sky above one of the aforementioned battles with cross-dimensional demonic forces and see a lone human-looking figure, wearing a black uniform trimmed with gold, fall through the portal and plummet several hundred feet to the ground below, his outraged screams abruptly stopping when he hit at what was probably close to terminal velocity.

"Damn," Faith Lehane commented as she paused in pulling her axe out of the demonic skull in which it was currently embedded to watch the wildly flailing body hit the ground with a 'thud!' clearly audible across the hundred or so feet separating the two spots. "That *had* to have hurt!"

"Yeah, I bet it did," Dawn Summers nodded her agreement as she casually jabbed her sword into a Graloch demon's left eye and out the back of its skull. "Usually, when they come through a portal that high up, they can fly.

"We should probably thank him if he survives the battle," she noted thoughtfully as she ducked a dying swipe of the demon's upper left arm.

"He did take out two Gralochs when he hit," the younger Summers sister pointed out.

"Yeah, you're right," the second most experienced Slayer in the world agreed, as they – and everyone else present on both sides of the conflict – watched the newest arrival push himself to his feet, swearing quite loudly as he was immediately attacked by all of the demons surrounding him while doing so.

Somewhat surprisingly, the visitor didn't seem to be affected by any of his assailants' attacks, and simply ignored the various claws, fists or other implements striking him while he blazed a path of mayhem and destruction through the demonic multitudes surrounding him.

It took a while, but with the assistance of their previously unanticipated possible ally, the Council's forces eventually cleared the field of the forces marshaled against them, and once they'd completed that task, the sole two Scoobies present (Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles and Andrew all being otherwise occupied coordinating Council teams in other combat zones around the world) took the opportunity to utilize their standing as Council officers and make contact with the visitor.

"Hey, stud," Faith smiled as she and Dawn slunk up to the newly arrived dimensional traveler, both of them giving the well-muscled newcomer an approving and quite thorough visual examination as they did so, "I'm Faith, and this here's Dawn. We're with the Reformed Slayers and Watchers Council, and we're the ones who usually end up dealing with any kind of paradimensional shit.

"So, ya wanna go grab a beer and tell us your story?"
