Give Them Hell
Disclaimer: I don’t own anything. I don’t even own a bike. I certainly don’t own BTVS, Harry Potter, or Smallville.
D’Hoffryn was bored. No, he was a demon lord, so he wasn’t just bored, he was BORED. RHIP- rank hath its privileges, and so when he got bored, he got to be royally bored. So, with that in mind, he set off to do what always made him feel better- granting nasty wishes and gaining vengeance… ahem…JUSTICE for the wronged person.
This time, however, the vengeance just wasn’t cutting it. “Standards,” the demon muttered, “No one has any standards anymore. A girl gets tormented for being ordinary instead of magical, and what does she give him? Lifelong greasy hair, and an ugly nose. Hardly worthy of my time.” Suddenly he heard a scream of anger, the likes of which he had not heard in a long time.
Investigating, D’Hoffryn found the source of the scream, a young brunette woman. He became invisible and drifted close enough to hear her angry rants.
“That jerk! Always hiding something! I wish he would just show the world his big secret, show it on the outside so that no one could miss it. Always disappearing and never a hint as to what he’s doing. I wish everyone could see him then.” She continued to rant and wave her hands.
D’Hoffryn smirked, then listened in a little closer. When he heard the name, he groaned. As a demon, he didn’t want to interfere with the destiny of a HERO, as things would be doomed to fall apart on him. However…as long as he followed he actual wording of the wish, and didn’t interfere with destiny, just…warp…things a little…
Years later, people still shook their heads at the familiar, yet completely ridiculous sight of Superman flying overhead. No one bothered to ask why the man wore his underwear on the outside, just smirked and watched as, yet again, he flew to the rescue.
I blame too much caffeine on a late night for this. This is open to any and all who would like to continue. Please feel free to add any ridiculous, painful or unusual wishes that D’Hoffryn might consider granting.
