Chapter 18

Curiously, but it was Titan who charged forth, clearly using the momentum and his bulk to carry the fight. Unfortunately, it was Kennedy who stood in his way, blocking it. The jarring collission that resulted did bowl the younger Slayer over, but the grey giant too was stopped, looking a bit confused.

"What the-?" the grey giant muttered, when 'Andria' tackled him from behind, hitting him in the knees. As the much-bigger creature began to topple, 'Andria' muttered something about knees, Heracles and Anteus, and lifted Titan into mid-air...though not looking very happy about it.

Inscrutable Master Shen, however, wasn't giving up either. "You cannot do that!" he snarled. "You're a samosa! Eduard told us that you were food!"

Zap! Jo used his distraction to hit the humanoid with her taser. "Ah, just shut up!" she snapped. "If there's one creature more annoying that Barlowe - it's you!" she grumbled.

By now, only Eduard was left and he was doing quite well, actually, seeing that his energy shield was doing its' job well enough... until Willow just blasted him with a green-coloured spell of hers. It blasted the other extraplanar humanoid into the wall and finished the fight.

"Hey, Willow, I see that you didn't change much," Riley said dryly.

"Neither have you," Willow nodded happily enough.

"Is he married?" Beverly asked Kennedy, quietly, while Jo pretended not to listen in.

"Yeah," Kennedy nodded, "we met his wife. Lovely woman. His friend Graham, however, is single," she pointed at the man in question.

"Hmm," the other two women paused and looked at Graham thoughtfully.

"What?" the man in question finally noticed all the attention focused on him and didn't look too happy about it. "What's wrong? Kennedy, what did you do now?"

"Nothing," Kennedy said with a grin that belied her words completely.

Graham twitched.

Riley, meanwhile, approached Jack and Allison. "Sherrif Carter and Dr. Blake, I preseme?" he enquired, politely. "We have heard quite a bit about you from general Mansfield via the grapevine. Nice to you meet you in person at last."

"Likewise," Jack nodded. "So, now what?"

"I'm afraid that we'll take over from here, and by 'we' I meant the miliitary, and by 'take over' I meant our piscine friend," Riley said slowly. "Any potential problems with that?"

"Talk to Fargo about that," Jack shrugged. "He's the man in charge on all levels."

Riley took a good look at Fargo as he was busy congratulating Holly regarding her bravery in his typical fashion and winced. "Willow," he asked in a plaintive tone, "some help?"

Willow just sighed and joined her cousin and Fargo.

Jack and Allison exchanged thoughtful looks.

"This is going to be interesting," Jack muttered to Allison, who just shook her head and sighed. "Or maybe not."
