Summary: Dawn Summers is dead. The Key's mortal body is finished, but after seeing the world, the universe, the multiverse, in such a different way, the Key just had to try again. Using its own version of the monk's spell the Key sends itself to another dimension, a parallel universe to the one it had been in for the last 86 years.

The Key looked down. Or maybe it was up. It didn't really matter anyway. It could see the lights whichever way it turned. They were all around. They blinked on and off, constantly changing, moving, so quickly!

It remembered, slowly, what it used to be. A girl, a human. It was interesting, the lives of humans. Of all of those living things really, but humans especially.

The Key thought as the universes revolved and the dimensions spiraled.

I liked seeing...I liked being...small...I liked living

It was the first true conscious thought of the Key, while in its larger, everywhere, and nowhere form. A few millennium later, in linear, human time, the Key had another thought.

I could...do it again. Just send myself somewhere.

Only decades later the Key did just that. The Key hadn't thought it through though, it didn't have enough time or enough of a conscious. The Key took the monk's spell and preformed it on itself, but it didn't think of specific personality, genes, family, time, or even dimension like the monks. The spell went on autopilot, sending the Key to the time period the spell had been said last, the dimension the Key was concentrated near, and the people who could protect it the best.

Memories got erased and replaced, lives got completely changed, because one simple mystical energy forgot to remember that you're supposed to look before leap.
