Rory and the Unearthly Child.

Rory and the Unearthly Child.

Rory leaned against the doorjamb of the warehouse currently housing the Pandorica. He nodded at the girl that was coming down the street. She smiled at him and nodded back. She was a new-comer to the area, living with her Grandfather across the road. Rory wasn't sure where they lived, exactly, but they seemed to have a living space somewhere in the junkyard across the street from him.

The girl herself was a teenager, and went to the Coalhill Road school, not far away. The Grandfather, on the other hand, was rarely seen. He was an older man, frail looking, but with an odd shapeless hat.

Rory was using the recent routine to hold his patience. He had only about 25 years to go - it was 1963.

***

The next week, Rory nodded again at the girl. This time, though, he noticed a car that seemed to be tailing her. The occupants didn't seem very good at it; but with his experience and knowledge gained from the future, he didn't hold it against them. He did get curious. It was dark enough, perhaps the girl hadn't realized they were following her?

When they entered the Foreman's junkyard, he silently followed them. They lost him fairly quickly, taking a turn or entrance he hadn't seen. He continued to look around, until he heard a very familiar sound.

Whoosh-Whoosh.

It was the TARDIS! Dematerializing, if he was to guess. Which meant that the Doctor had been around! Had it been that old man? None of the others seemed to fit, but if so, the Doctor had shrunk more than a little. Of course, the Doctor was alien, and had been 900 odd years old the last time Rory had seen him. Perhaps this was an even earlier version, and he had shrunk that much over the centuries?

Rory wasn't sure. He wasn't sure he would ever be sure. But he found it interesting. This was yet another encounter with a Doctor.

Obviously, this is an encounter with the first Doctor, or really with Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter, from the episode "The Unearthly Child", the first Doctor Who episode.
