A/N: This would be from an earlier loop, while she is still learning all the rules and trying to figure out ways around them.

I have no rights to the characters, setting or the like. Just this one little idea, set in mmooch's base twist on Joss's idea.


Buffy, after arriving back from a particularly bad session, one where they won, but it cost almost everyone their lives, had an epiphany. She looked over at D'Hoffryn.

"I can only go back to when the first potential showed up in Sunnydale, right?"

"That is correct."

"So, I can go back to when I was 7 then, right?"

"What?"

"Well, the first potential to show up in Sunnydale was Amanda. And she was born when I was about 6 or 7, right? And she was a Sunnydale native. So, the first potential shows up when I'm about 6 or 7."

"But- no- but- very well."

Buffy appeared before the Demon Lord again. She hadn't even made it to Lothos this time. It seems, if you are known as a seer, certain figures are eager and willing to collect certain body parts. Like eyes, tongues, brains. Little things like that. And, not thinking things through completely, Buffy had fallen afoul of Wolfram and Hart before she ever gained her Slayer abilities.

"Perhaps now you will learn to limit yourself to what I said. When the first of the Potentials - that is born outside Sunnydale - enters it, you may start your next loop."
