Pay the lady before you leave....

I don't own Warehouse 13 or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This is a piece of fanfiction and away we go......

Detroit Michigan.....

“Do we really have to do this?” Pete asked Myka as they entered the U-Store It.

“We do.” Myka sighed. “I'm not happy about it either. This is an auction and their security is top notch. It's either bid or go home. We're not sure which locker it is either so you need to really keep an eye out today.'

“So... we stay away from the guy with the eyepatch then.” Pete said. “He's all kinds of wiggin'.”

“Eyepatch?” Myka asked as she looked around. “Isn't that kind of cliché?” She said before seeing the man in question. “Oh dear.”

“Ex-boyfriend?” Pete asked with a grin.

“More like a month long one night stand.” Myka said as she started to blush. “It was the summer before college and I really don't want to talk about it.”

“Come on Myks! I gots to know!” Pete prodded.

“No power on this earth.” Myka said with a glare. “Now let's just stand in his blind-spot while we bid okay?”

“You got it!” Pete said with a thumbs up. “What's our limit?”

“Two thousand.” Myka told him.

“We're screwed.” Pete sighed. “Doesn't Artie even watch 'Storage Wars'?”

“I try to think Artie doesn't watch TV. Mainly because I don't want to think what he'd actually watch.” Myka said.

“Right.” Pete said his mind went to strange places. “Fair point. Let's get to bidding.” He said as he rubbed his hands together.

Twenty Minutes later....

“Oh come on!” Pete said with a groan. “That's the fifth locker he's bought today! He's got to have an artifact on him. No one's pockets are that deep.”

“He's wearing a coat and cargo pants. That's plenty of pocket room for petty cash.” Myka pointed out. “Though when I knew him, he was kind of a cheap.”

“People change.” Pete shrugged. “If you asked me five years ago if I would ever be a world traveling artifact snatching ne'er do well, I would have said you were crazy. Or a writer.”

“Shh. We've only got two left. Have you gotten any vibes yet?” Myka asked him.

“Only from eyepatch guy.” Pete sighed. “What's his name?”

“Not now.” Myka said as she stayed within Pete's profile to keep herself hidden.

“This one.” Pete said as the auctioneer opened the door to the current locker for bid. He started the bid for the locker at a solid seven hundred.

Three minutes of bidding later and they were out bid once again.

“I'm gonna zap him. I'm gonna zap him and loot the locker.” Pete said with a frown.

“Or we could talk to him.” Myka suggested. “We're gonna have to.”

“Fine, but only if you tell me where you met him.” Pete said with a grin.

“A...” Myka said while rubbing her mouth with her hand.

“A what now?” Pete asked as he put his hand on his ear and leaned closer to Myka.

“A strip club.” Myka forced out. “It's a long story.”

“That's what she said.” Pete grinned. “Now I've got to meet this guy.”
