Chapter One

Disclaimer: I do not own BtVS or Eureka, the fact that Eureka has been canceled should prove that fact....

Time-line: End of First season of Buffy and a prequel of a few months to First Season of Eureka.


'Why did they stick me with all the Sunnydale prisoner transfers,' US Marshall Jack Carter sighed, 'oh I know why because I'm the only one who can do it without getting stabbed in the neck with a barbeque fork. Ahh a crossbow mugging,' sigh, 'Only in Sunnydale.' Jack said to himself, 'looks like I'm gonna be late.'

Jack pulled over and took in the scene. A teenage boy with dark hair was leading a man in his 20s with spiked hair down the street. Taking note of the the older man's pale complexion, Jack took a moment to dump a bottle of holy water over his head as he exited the car before pulling his weapon, “Freeze US Marshall.”

The boys shoulders slumped in defeat as the older man started to lower his hands. “Hold on captain hair gel, you keep those hands up and don't move, kid as long as you keep that crossbow aimed at him, we'll be ok.” You could see the hope and confusion spark in the boys eyes as Jack advanced on the two of them. “Now tall dark and pale you're not going to move and we're going to do a test, I know you might not be afraid of bullets, but I'm a good shot and I'm aiming at your knees. CATCH” Jack threw a cross at the older man which burned as the man instinctively tried to catch it. “Ok, mystery one solved, now for mystery two, kid why haven't you just shot him?”

Xander took a deep breath....
