A/N: Since so many asked for more, I thought I would add to what I had done. Plus my muse got an idea, and passed it on to me. I still don't own any of the intellectual properties involved here. This is set in the first season of Warehouse 13, before Claudia shows up, so just before the episode 'Claudia'.
Pete was irritated. Okay, he was more than just irritated. He was downright frustrated. He had been running around Cleveland for 3 weeks now. Usually, the effects of Artifacts were pretty obvious, if you knew what you were looking for, but this one wasn't. There didn't seem to be any of the warning signs here in Cleveland, like had shown up in Sunnydale before it fell into the earth. There also wasn't the presence of the blond person.
He and Myka had seen the Artifact once, though. Well, they thought so, anyways. Pete was sure it was the Axe. Myka thought it was a hallucination. After all, it was at a distance, in the hands of a brunnette. Who looked like she was about 8 months pregnant. Leaping from the roof of one building to another.
Maybe he had just been seeing things. But, somehow, he didn't think so.
Myka was frustrated. It had been 3 weeks of wandering around this hellhole of a town, with no results to show for it. And, no, she didn't think that 'sighting' of a pregnant lady leaping from one building to another was a result. Artifacts may be able to do pretty amazing things, but that? She didn't think so!
So, 3 weeks of effort, with no results. And, in just a couple hours, they had to report back to Artie, who was getting seriously pissy about this. Why had he had to recruit her for this strange job, and pair her with that oddball? Okay, she could get that Artifacts were real, but, come-on! There had to be someone better to do the job, didn't there?
"You know what? I don't know about you, but we need some time to decompress, or this is going to drive us crazy. Want to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?" That was Pete, giving useless suggestions again. Though, thinking on it, maybe she should go with. She needed to decompress a bit too, and who knows what she would find in the vicinity of that?
