Prologue: Becoming
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel are owned by the amazing and incredible Joss Whedon (he is a god, bow before his writing divinity) and his company Mutant Enemy. I own nothing. Surprise crossover nearer the end of the whole story I do not own either, this is owned and distributed by Dark Horse and created by Mike Mignola and John Byrne.

White Knight; Black Queen
Prologue
Becoming"Willow. Uh, she told me to tell you..." Alexander Harris, Xander to almost everyone who new him, hesitantly said to his friend Buffy, the current Slayer, the one girl in all the world who had been endowed with supernatural strength to take on the Vampires and many demons of the world.
"Tell me what," Buffy asked, obviously pressing Xander to get to his point, her Watcher, Giles was still in the hands of Angelus (the demonic side of Buffy's lover, Angel, the only Vampire with a soul) and time was drawing short until the Master Vampire completed the ritual to awaken the demon Acathla.
"To...um, kick his ass," Xander finally managed to get out, he couldn't risk telling Buffy that Willow was going to re-attempt the Ritual of Restoration in another attempt to give Angel back his soul. If he did he feared that Buffy might hold back in the critical fight against Angelus and wind up being killed and then the world would be sucked into Acathla's hell-dimension. He did not know however that that little lie would hold a very large impact on his life and lead to very drastic changes to his future.
Buffy nodded as she ran into the large mansion, and Xander, after hesitating a few moments followed. Angelus and the other vampires clustered around the large stone statue of the demon they were attempting to awaken weren't his concern, he need to find Giles and get him out of there safely. That was the last time any of them saw Buffy, it was obvious that she had defeated Angelus as the world had not been sucked into hell and Acathla had been sealed, but Buffy had just vanished off the face of the earth it seemed.
