Pay Up
A/n: Short yes but showing some spine! You can thank DragonBard for reminding me about this....
Pay UpSpike shoved Stephen along for a couple of blocks, after leaving behind the team of Watchers, before Stephen turned around on him asking a frustrated and annoyed. "What?"
Spike casually leaned back a bit, straightening. "You still owe me £11 pounds, wanker. Pay up." He demanded.
"What are you talking about?" Stephen sighed in frustration.
"The bloody book you burned back in 1898. Dracula. Ring any bells?" Spike asked almost casually. He wasn't going to let this go.
"I told you then and I'm telling you now. IT. IS. RUBBISH! We needed to find a way to de-mystify Lord Alucard so that he could go haring off to whatever he was doing. To many challengers that weren't a challenge. You shove me again and I'll show you exactly why he picked me to play him while he was away." Stephen warned. "Besides you set the towns folk on me. You weren't exactly playing fair."
"Fair? FAIR?! You tried to talk both Darla and Druscilla into staking themselves." Spike spat back angrily.
"Spike!" Druscilla commanded sharply.
Spike glanced at Druscilla's stern features. "We'll settle this later."
Spike reached out to shove Stephen again but froze when Dru snapped. "No, you wont. We are all bound to Lord Alucard and that was over a hundred years ago. You had your vengeance for his attempt to get me and Darla staked. Your vengeance for the £11 pounds is that he's staying tied up until we reach the Hellsing holdings. You do
not get fight him without good cause or Lord Alucard's permission much less mine! You are still my Childe for all that Angelus has raised you because of my illness and you
will obey me as your
sire! Have I made myself clear?"
"Yes princess. I'll play nice." Spike said meekly and shoved Stephen again to start him moving once more. Neither of them were willing to cross Dru's line drawn in the sand, at least not yet....
