A smirking Gregory House spelled trouble. Everyone knew that.Story: Smirk
Gregory House was smirking. As a matter of fact, he had been smirking for days on end. Not his I’m-going-to-do-horrible-things-to-you-and-I’ll-enjoy-it smirk, but his I’m-honestly-happy-about-something-for-once smirk. It chilled everyone to the bone. Especially his best friend James Wilson was wary. He better than anyone knew that a happy House spelled trouble like nothing else did.
There was that time, for example, when Greg had found out that he had a cousin, Xander Harris, who lived in California, but who managed not to become a something-better-not-repeated-in-polite-company despite having hung out with a bunch of girls for years. Girls and, of all things, a British librarian. Greg firmly believed that the only one worth talking about in that group—other than his cousin—was the red-haired musician who had become fast friends with Xander, Oz.
Xander’s wit and sarcasm had been a match to Greg’s from the beginning and the few times he had stayed over in the last couple of years had always been, um, interesting to say the least for everyone living and/or working with. Nothing and no one had been saved from the trouble Xander and Greg had caused together. James shuddered as he recalled that he himself had become a favourite target of the two men’s pranks and general mischievous behaviour.
One day faint strands of a familiar song drifted towards him over the noise made by patients, nurses and doctors. James paled when he recognised the tune being hummed by Greg, making the patient he had been examining stare at him worriedly. The Scooby Doo theme. Which meant that Xander would be coming to visit soon.
James Wilson idly wondered, if it would be too late to ask for a few weeks off.End of “Smirk”.A/N:
