Almost Sleepless Nights



The world righted itself with a speed and efficiency that surprised Xander. Buildings were rebuilt, people were being relocated, order was restored and everything was almost as it was before. Except for the snow in Florida, of course.

Xander and Daniel had exchanged contact info with a first date already in mind. They had both been dragged to different parts of the country by their friends, but they would happily make a flight just to see each other. Unfortunately, it still took nearly a month for them to reunite.

Their first date was interesting to say the least. They met up somewhere in Kentucky and ate at a restaurant that had not been hit too hard by the storms. The two refused to let awkwardness play a part in their date. When the silence became too awkward they began to talk about random things to fill it and soon they were on a roll. Conversation became easy again. It was like they were back in that freezing room with the other survivors, but without all of the books. Their connection didn’t suffer in the least which was a pretty good thing because they ended up in bed with each other that same night.

They didn’t have sex. They just slept…well mostly anyways.

When he got back to the base Daniel wanted to curse Jack when he smirked at him and waggled his eyebrows. And then he wanted to curse Xander for putting all of those damn hickies on his neck in the first place.
