Faith wandered down some random backwoods road. She didn’t care where she ended up, as long as it was far away from Buffy. She tried to be a good little slayer and help with the pipsqueaks that were being called by Willow’s spell, but she hated being stuck in Buffy’s shadow. Faith left Cleveland so that she could find her own place without dealing with Giles’s nagging, Buffy’s superiority, or Robin’s clinginess. Faith was never going to lived down the whole turning evil thing.

She turned at the sound of an RV headed in her direction and stuck out her thumb. No reason she couldn’t hitch a ride to wherever the hell it was that she was going. The RV slowed and the door was opened by a shaggy haired guy with a goofy smile. He reminded her of Shaggy from that Scooby Doo cartoon.

“Hello there. And how are you on this fine morning?” She couldn’t tell if the guy was joking or not. She could swear the guy was higher than a kite.

“Marty!” A girl with red hair poked her head around the corner, “I’m sorry about my friend. He’s not all there.” The girl gave Marty a look and he just smiled in response.

Faith nodded, “It’s cool. Got room for one more?”

“Yeah, sure.”

The guy moved out of the way and Faith climbed into the RV. Her earlier assumption that the guy was stoned was spot on. Sitting on the table was a large baggie filled with pot. The red head offered her hand, “I’m Dana. That’s Marty, Holden, Jules, and Curt.” She gestured to each of them as she spoke their names.

From the driver’s seat Curt turned to regard her, “Where you headed?”

She thought about that for a second, “Wherever I end up I guess.”

An arm draped over her shoulder and she had to fight not to bash the person’s face in, “Well, I don’t know about wherever, but we are going to a cabin to drink and be merry.”

Jules smiled, “You’re welcome to join us if you want.”

Faith thought about it for a minute. She could use a couple of days of partying. Buffy and the gang were way too uptight. “I’m in.” Marty sat at the table and began to roll a joint. “Got one of those for me?” He grinned sheepishly at her and handed her the one he just finished. She leaned her head back and let the smoke fill her lungs. When she finished smoking she closed her eyes and allowed herself to drift off to sleep.
