“Jackie what’s Tony’s status?” Xander listened carefully as Jackie reported on Tony Stark’s condition. He watched as the Ice Giants rallied and started to come at them from two positions in a pincer movement.

One of the units was made up of cavalry on funky ass giant mounts. The other and much larger and slower unit was coming up from the right. This was where he needed to send his fliers and one of them was out and the other was tending to him.

That left JARVIS and Thor, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to send Thor in just yet. “Bruce, a word.”

“What’s up?”

“How’s Thor?”

“He’s okay.”

“He’s okay, he’s one hundred percent ready to kick ass or is he okay, he’s mobile and compared to a human in pretty darn good shape?”

Bruce thought about that one for a few seconds, “The second one.”

“I thought so. I have a favor to ask?”

“Name it.” There was no hesitation there. Xander had pulled off miracles on his behalf and there was little he wouldn’t do for the man.

“I want you to take JARVIS and Faith and do a bit of mayhem, it doesn’t even have to be serious mayhem, but I need you to slow down that second group until I can organize what I have and bring the rest up to some kind of fighting strength. Can you do that for me?” Xander knew what he was asking for, and this was some of that good coin he was banking on to use with Bruce for an emergency day. It looked like that emergency day was coming up a bit too soon for his liking, but he had family and friends to think about and bring safely out of this frozen hell.

“We that hard up?” Bruce asked.

“Oh, yeah. I’d send Nat with you guys, but I’m so going to need her, here on the ground.”

“All right Xan. I’m your huckleberry.”

“Seriously Bruce, Doc Holiday. I’m so proud of you man. Your grasp of obscure Quip-Fu is impressive.”

Bruce snorted, “When do you need us to start?” he asked.

“Gimme a sec.” He went over and talked with Faith and gave her a quick rundown using the Slayer code. It was faster and it conveyed a huge amount of ideas in a few motions.

“Let’s go green candy.” Faith walked up to Bruce and led him away by the hand. Ten feet away she was ready to go. She looked at Xander and he nodded.

“JARVIS this is a code Omega situation. That unit is your target. Faith and Doctor Banner are assisting.”

“Understood sir. Executing.” JARVIS transformed into his battle-mode and took off. Faith right behind and Bruce leaping after them.

Xander's mini-air Calvary unit soon engaged the enemy. JARVIS snipped from above. Faith was hit and run, and Bruce simply tore them and the ground up.

Xander saw them tear up the mounted Calgary and smiled. 'That's one worry down. Now to take care of the main assault.'

"Thor, you and your people are gonna do me this great big favor. You are gonna be my reserves. Now I know that you're usually all shock and awe, but listen to what I need..."

As Xander explained what he needed from the Asgardians Clint smiled behind his back and with the help of Tasha got his family organized.

"Loki, If they make it this far they're all yours. No mercy."

The huge white wolf snarled back in reply.

"Alpha squad, you are supporting your aunt Tasha. She's 'Artillery, and you're riflemen. remember to stay behind cover, and that means you Tony." he turned to the other squad, "Omega, You're going up high. I need gunship support. Hit them in the rear as they crash into our lines. Break them up make them panic. and ignore the 'Big One' until he's free. He's a non-issue for now." he looked at his family and they looked back, "What the hell are you all waiting for? Invitations? Go! Go! Go!"

The two teams broke up and Natasha started her bombardment with Gungnir, using wide area, low power, dispersal shots. Alpha squad used their gravity canons to take out the leaders and the bigger targets.

Omega squad took to the air and raced to the back of the advancing Ice Giant infantry. On the way they shot up the columns randomly and regrouped at the back end of the ground force. A few stragglers turned around to follow them and got shot up for their troubles.

"Jackie. How's Tony?"

"He's regained consciousness, but I need a few minutes before moving him."

"Okay, you have two. No more, in the meantime could you please throw up an energy field around this spot?'

"Sure I could that."

"Cool Beans. God I hate crap. It never ends."

"True, but when the crap starts rolling down hill where would you prefer to be? Here/ or hiding underneath your bed?" Clint asked as he used his bow to target officer-types.

"...Here. With my family. Where else? Move over, they're getting close enough." Xander took out the combat auto-shotgun and selected HE rounds and started a bit of mayhem of his own.

He concentrated on taking out large groups and on breaking up the ground. Making it more difficult for the opposition to cover the ground quickly.

When they were at the range he deemed appropriate he mentally changed the rounds in the magazine to smoke and started to add to the fog of war.

"Welcome to War. Twenty-first century style bitches!" he yelled.

On the ice the Ice Giants heard the challenge and raced to prove the intruders and defilers wrong.
