Disclaimer: Don’t own any of the characters from BtVS, wish I did, would be doing something much more fun, other than playing around in Joss’s sandbox. Also don’t own GI Joe as Hasbro owns them.
Two hours after they left, Xander and Shipwreck entered the Hyperion with the women to find a standoff taking place.
Faith and the minis were standing there armed to the teeth, facing off against Flint and the Joes.
“This isn’t something for civilians,” Flint says.
Faith quickly interrupts, “You’re right so stay here.”
As she and the minis are about to force the issue, Xander shouts out, “Stand down Slayers.”
Everyone turns and sees them at the entrance, the minis rush over and help Buffy over to a couch as Flint checks over Lady Jaye.
Flint then faces Shipwreck, “What did you think you were doing rushing off?”
As Flint lays into Shipwreck, Faith is doing the same thing to Xander, “I thought we broke you of this habit Xander.”
“We had to go Faith, I knew the twins weren’t going to hold up their end of the deal, but we did find out the name of the demon behind this,” Xander said.
Giles then spoke up, “What is his name?”
“Serpos,” Xander said in a tone that promised pain.
“Oh dear,” Giles said and grabbed a book off the pile he had been looking through, “Serpos is a demon similar to what the Mayor turned into.”
Xander raised an eyebrow and asked, “Does this mean we get to blow up another school?”
Giles frowned and shook his head, “No, he can’t be killed that way as he has the ability to regenerate.”
Nodding, Xander faced both groups, “Slayers, saddle up, we get a second Apocalypse this year. Joes, go deal with Cobra.”
“That is a good plan,” a voice said from the door way.
Both teams turned to see General Hawk standing there.
“Sir, when did you get here,” Flint asked.
“I flew out with a bit more gear after your last update,” Hawk replied, “Now then let’s go take care of Cobra.”
Flint nodded and said, “You heard the man. Let’s go deal with the two legged snakes.”
The Joes filed out and Shipwreck stopped to look at Xander, resting his hand on his shoulder then heading out with his team.
“Mr. Harris, you were supposed to call if you ran into trouble,” the general said in a slightly amused tone.
“Sorry, we’ve been busy,” Xander quipped.
“Good hunting Slayers,” the general said then went out with the Joes.
“X you have got to be kidding,” Faith said as they surveyed the room where Serpos was. “I count two dozen vampires, about a dozen polgara demons and oh you have got to be fucking kidding me.”
“Yep, I see the rings as well,” Xander said, “Terakan assassins.”
“How are we doing this,” Faith asked slightly nervous over the odds now.
“The minis take out the vampires and tag up on the polgara demons. You and Buffy work on the assassins while I stand guard over Willow while she tries to bind Serpos,” Xander said.
Shaking her head and then nodding in agreement, it was a good plan; she just hoped their luck with plans that seemed good held.
“Ok say when,” she said and moved down to talk to Buffy and the minis.
Xander looked at Willow, she nodded to him. He then took aim with his cross bow and fired the bolt into the eye of one of the assassins. As the assassin screamed out, the minis rushed into the room. Buffy wielding the Scythe went after one assassin while Faith holding the Troll Hammer went after the other.
The room was a violent dance, when one slayer was knocked down a fellow one would cover her, until she could get back up. Dust was in the air and demon blood began to run along the ground.
Willow continued to chant as Serpos screamed for the slayers and witch to be stopped. Xander was pleased the plan seemed to be working, then he gasped as he saw the Terakan assassin he’d shot stand and thrust forward with a sword toward Faith’s back. Not thinking of himself he ran down toward Faith and shoved her aside as the sword went through his abdomen and out of his back.
“What the hell,” Faith said as she picked herself up and saw Xander laying there with a sword sticking out of his stomach. “Xander,” she screamed as she took the hammer and swung it hard taking the assassin’s head off. “Red we need to go now, Xander is dying,” she cried out.
Willow saw what happened to Xander and suddenly the room grew very cold, “You hurt the crayon giver. You are responsible, time for you to understand pain.”
The slayers looked at Willow, her hair streaks of black and white… as both light and dark were equally pissed right now. Willow’s hands thrust forward toward Serpos, and then her hands turned inward as if holding a ball. Serpos could not understand, he was nearly equal to an old one, how did this witch have the power to hold him in place. An inhuman scream filled the room as where Serpos once lay a ball of energy was in his place.
“To the sun, to the sun, where you cannot run, forever to burn and never be free, from now until eternity,” Willow chanted as the globe shot up through the roof into the sky.
Faith held Xander’s head as they tried to stop the blood flowing from his stomach, “Red we need to go now.”
Willow nodded and in a flash of light, they disappeared.
“That was strangely anti-climatic Sir,” Flint said to General Hawk as they finished rounding up the last of the Cobra soldiers.
“I agree Flint, I believe the twins knew they had gotten in over their heads and did the right thing for once,” the General mused.
“Call for Shipwreck sir,” a radio man said.
“He’s occupied right now, can you take a message,” Flint said, still annoyed that Shipwreck and Harris had gone off on their own. At least they could have invited him along.
“His son has been rushed to Cedars-Sinai and isn’t expected to make it,” the corpsman said sadly.
“Get him there now Flint,” the general said.
Flint nodded and went to find Shipwreck and get him to the hospital.
AN: Ain’t I a stinker?
Sorry for the delay but I’ve been trying to write a battle scene for the Joes and failing miserably so I just cut it all out. One more chapter to go, reviews are always welcome.
