Just a short idea I had I don't own Stargate or Buffy. and I'm a horrible writer. Anyone is more than welcome to take this and improve it.

Stargate Command -

"Yes Mr. President" said General Hammond while hanging up the phone.

WIth a sigh he called for Sgt. Harriman to get Colonel O'neil to his office and prepare for a trip off base.

There was a knock on the General's door. "You called sir?"

"Yes Jack, come in" Hammond called. He was at his desk gathering files and paperwork, putting them in a briefcase.

"Going somewhere sir?" Jack replied.

"Yes actually. That's why I called for you. I'm going to be taking a small leave and leaving you in charge of the base until I get back. The rest of SG-1 is on stand down until I return to relieve you"

"Yes sir. Finally taking your grand-daughters to DIsney?"

Hammond sighed "Unfortunately not. I've been asked to be a part of a joint service tribunal. Apparently the NID and and Army had an operation go south. Extremely south. And that's all I can say."

"Remember to take pictures Sir. I promise they won't get go farther than the entire base." Jack smiled. Excited to see the NID finally get in trouble.

Hammond just shook his head while Jack started whistling out the door. "Oh and Jack. I'm taking Walter with me"

Sunnydale Army Base-

General Hammond sat back. He and two other officers had just finished the investigation portion of the tribunal. They had watched the footage, read the reports and interviewed the surviving personnel. To say the Demon research Initiative was a screw up was putting it lightly. It was a disaster. An unbelievable disaster. He was still having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that vampires and demons actually exist. Sure he regularly sent teams through the Stargate all over the universe, meeting aliens and flying through space. But the fact that these things existed on his home planet was terrifying.

They were done for the day, but still had a lot of information to discuss. None of them felt up to talking about it that night, preferring to take the night to come to terms with what they had learned.

Hammond had one stop he had to make first. He had pulled her address from the files. He needed to know.

Revello Drive-

Hammond pulled up at her address, hoping she was home.

Knocking on the door he couldn't help but notice how normal it looked.

"Hello?" A young blonde answered the door.

"Yes, Ms Buffy Summers?" at her nod he went on "I'm General George Hammond, May I come in?"

She opened the door but gave no formal invite. He walked in still noticing how normal everything looked.

" Ms. Summers. I've been called in as part of a military tribunal investigating the Initiative fiasco. I have to ask….. Is all this real? Are vampires really roaming the streets at night? Are you ………. Are you really the super powered fighter in the files?"

Buffy just looked at him. Studying him. "Yes, yes they are and yes I am."

Hammond sighed. Feeling that much older. " I was afraid you'd say that. Thank you. …. and thank you for everything you've done. If you ever decide you need a change of pace or want a hell of an adventure, take my card. Call me. We could use the help."
