Challenge: for the livejournal 2012 August Fic-a-Day Challenge.

Warning: possible spit-take danger.

Timeline: post-‘Chosen’ for BtVS; sometime during or after season 2 for PS, but change the dates so they line up with BtVS airdates.

A/N: This is set in a non-9/11 world, so airport security isn’t as stringent.

EDIT A/N: Due to a misunderstanding - on my part - I thought I had to post all these oneshots as a collection. Re-reading the request, I see that isn't the case, so I've decided to break up the stories into a series like I did last year so I can post each oneshot in the appropriate fandom category. I apologize to those who reviewed this story before: RevDorothyL, Harry, danielbuffyfan, bradsan, Tjack, tchizek, BrownFinderth, zigpal. I greatly appreciated the reviews, but I think this way will work better in the long run for readers. I saved the reviews offline if the people would like to know what they wrote before (assuming they want to re-review).

Disclaimer: BtVS/AtS characters belong to Joss Whedon/Mutant Enemy. Perfect Strangers characters belong to Dale McRaven, Lorimar Television and Warner Bros. Television. I claim no rights to any copyrighted material. Please do not copy or take this story without my permission.

O’Hare Airport

It was one of those rare times when Buffy and her Sweetie were able to see each other without a demon uprising or any other apocalyptic reason. Buffy didn’t even mind having to meet in Chicago – despite its reputation as the Windy City. Not to be too Anya-ish, but with only a couple days together, she doubted they would be leaving the hotel room that much anyway.

Buffy looked around for the USO office, which was their designated meeting place. When she finally spotted him near the door of the USO, she bit her lip to keep from laughing. The poor guy was caught in a fierce hug from a guy in a colorful vest. She walked over and asked teasingly, “Should I be jealous, Graham?”

At the same time, a guy who reminded her of pre-evil trio Jonathon came over to scold the man hugging her boyfriend, “Balki! Jennifer and Mary Anne are waiting for us! Why are you hugging that man?”

Balki grinned manically at the man, and announced in a strange accent, “Look, Cousin Larry! It’s a GI! You must hug him!”

A look of horror showed on both Larry and Graham’s faces, while Buffy was losing her battle not to laugh. Larry sighed in great exasperation, “Is this one of your Myposian customs or something?”

Rolling his eyes in an exaggerated fashion, Balki replied, “Don’t be ridiculous, Cousin Larry; we don’t have GIs on Mypos! I found out that today, March 4th, is ‘Hug a GI Day’ in this…” he pulled out a thin paperback book from his pocket and read the title, drawing it out and shaking his head from side-to-side with each ‘w’ word, “Wwweeird and Wwwaacky American Holidays. Now go ahead and hug him!”

Despite the evil voice in her head cheering for the strange man to be successful in his quest to get the two men to hug, Buffy intervened before Larry had a stroke from embarrassment, “How ‘bout this instead? I’ll hug him for your cousin, okay?”

Larry quickly took her up on her offer and dragged Balki away. She and Graham could hear Balki ask, “She’s kissing him; I’m not sure that the book says anything about that. Would you have kissed him?”

Before Buffy could say anything, Graham growled in between kisses, “Not one word of this leaves this airport!”

“What about pictures?” Buffy asked cheekily, holding up her cell phone.

A/N: So many Balki/Larry things I wanted to put in here, but I settled on what I thought would be the best ones.
