Sunnydale High library
Sunnydale, CA

Xander Harris and the ensouled vampire, Angel (No Last Name ever offered), burst into the high school’s library – and waded directly into the battle against the tentacled monster trying to break free through the portal in the floor, which had been opened by the vampire known as The Master.

Above them on the library's roof, Buffy Summers was waging her own battle against the Master, a.k.a. Heinrich Joseph Nest, the ancient vampire who, less than half an hour earlier, had enthralled her and then drained some of her blood in order to free himself from his mystical prison.

Inside the library proper, a huge, green, multi-headed and tentacled demon had burst through the floor, its slick, ooze-coated limbs flailing wildly around the mystically-formed aperture.

As two random vampires attacked Angel and Xander as they tried to enter the library, Willow looked down and saw one of the creature's tentacles wrap itself around her ankle and she screamed loudly, attracting Ms. Calendar's attention.

"Giles! GILES!" the computer teacher yelled as she grabbed hold of Willow and began pulling her away from the monster. "We need your help!"

As Giles came running out of his office, he was confronted with the sight of a three-headed, tentacled monster, which towered over all of them, its three heads nearly touching the library ceiling. { Bloody hell! }

While Xander reached back and pressed a cross into the face of a vampire who had grabbed him from behind, Angel was busy fighting two other vampires who had managed to successfully invade the library.

Angel staked the closest bloodsucker he was fighting and Xander punched the one who'd attacked him in the face without much result, but quickly followed up his attack by staking it in the heart while it was distracted.

As one of the Hellmouth demon's heads hovered above Giles, and another head loomed above Willow, its face seemed to be laughing at her frantic struggle to escape, when suddenly, three human bodies abruptly flew up out of the portal and into the library, as though propelled from a cannon, to land in a struggling, cursing, fighting tangle of bodies and limbs several yards away.

Ignoring for the moment the new arrivals, Giles slammed the battle axe in his hands down on the tentacle puling Willow closer to the portal, severing it and freeing her, and Angel took advantage of the distraction created by the newly arrived combatants and the beast’s scream to stake his final opponent.

The three newcomers – a tall, dark-haired man and two young women, both of them brunettes – were all completely focused on their own battle. Both women were aggressively slashing at their larger opponent, the smaller woman's gladius-style sword and wooden stake and the taller brunette's two Gerber Mark II daggers keeping him in constant motion avoiding their well-coordinated attacks, while he was just as fiercely defending himself with his broadsword.

As Heinrich Joseph Nest (a.k.a. – Master Fruit Punch Face) suddenly crashed through the library's skylight window and was impaled on one of the upended research table legs, courtesy of the blonde Slayer he had failed to kill a earlier in the evening, his abrupt demise caused the male newcomer to reflexively glance in his direction.

All of the assembled Scoobies – Giles, Willow, Xander, Cordelia and Jenny Calendar – gasped in shock as they recognized the man as a golden-eyed, vampiric-featured doppelganger of their own occasional ally, Angel.

That brief fraction of a second's distraction proved to be a fatal mistake for the undead lookalike, as the smaller brunette fighting him took advantage of his momentary inattention to parry his blade to the side with her gladius and then plunge her stake into his unbeating heart, causing the undead body to explode into dust after a brief appearance of the inner skeleton.

Uncaring of that, though, with Nest's second and final death, the portal in the library floor began shrinking, vanishing into oblivion. The hideous-looking monster let out a loud scream of what sounded like frustration and anger, as it was forced to withdraw back to wherever it had originated, allowing the various combatants to pause and take a breath.

With that moment's respite, the Scoobies took a closer look at the pair of women who had ended up in the library through the now-closed portal, and everyone gasped in shock again, as they finally had a chance to now view the bruised and somewhat bloody features of the young woman who'd just dusted the Angel-lookalike, as she took a step back and moved closer to the taller brunette.

Save for her chestnut-brown tresses, and the fact that she had an additional inch or two in height, the girl appeared to be an almost exact match for Buffy Summers!

As the young woman in question pushed her way through the library's double doors, Giles murmured a disbelieving, "Buffy?" at the sight of the newcomer's features.

To which the Englishman's Slayer and the bloody and bruised young woman each reflexively answered, "Yeah?"

The shocked expressions on both young women's faces were almost perfect mirror images of each other, and under other circumstances, might have been considered exceedingly amusing by any onlookers.

As it was, however, no trace of humor could be seen in anyone's face as the Scooby Gang and the two apparently dimensionally-displaced young women warily faced each other, everyone's hands nervously grasping their weapons as they waited to see what the other group intended to do next.

As usual, Xander was the only one to say anything.

"This is gonna be weird isn’t it?"
