Chapter 4: The Breakfast Club
Having just stated at Shermer High school Rupert was unfamiliar with how their Saturday detentions were supposed to be run. He assumed that there would be a teacher or some other faculty there to supervise. However knowing some of his coworkers he seriously doubted it
When he returned to the school building on Monday he was appalled at the state of his library.
“Ah, Mr. Giles, yes. Well, Carl was planning on getting to this, but seeing as he's off on Sundays, well...” Mr. Vernon shrugged and turned to walk away.
Giles reached out and grabbed Mr. Vernon's shoulder.
“I don't know how detention is normally carried out here, but I assume things did not run normally. Next time you are in charge of a detention I'd appreciate it if you didn't use my library. Either that or make sure it is cleaned before the students leave. I'm not quite sure lunch meat was meant to adorn this particular statue in such a way. And I hope someone plans to pay for the pile of books that I see in pieces over by my counters.”
Richard Vernon turned and looked at Giles with a slight bit of fear in his eyes.
“Of course Mr. Giles. I'll go find Carl and get this taken care of right away.”
Richard turned and practically ran down the hall looking for a custodian to get the library cleaned up. Giles turned with a bit of a Ripper smile and headed to the teachers lounge. “I guess I”m getting my tea a little early today.”
