A/N: Wrote this up when I was having a touch of difficulty with Cylons. I’d seen the idea that the Watchers had Excalibur and wanted to know who would be the worst person to draw it.

“GILES!” Buffy’s voice resonated through the halls of the rebuilt Watchers Council. Everyone on duty looked up and shuddered. They had learned that when she used that tone it was best to get out of the way.

“Yes Buffy, what seems to be the problem?” Rupert Giles voice was calm and collected. The Watchers on duty smiled, breathed a sigh of relief, and thanked whatever god they prayed to that he was here. After years of dealing with the, shudder, Scooby Gang he was the best person to deal with an irate Slayer.

“Willow was doing an inventory of the vaults with Dawn. Faith and Xander were playing around and they got this really cool sword then this old guy popped up and started blabbing at them. Dawns on the floor laughing and Willow sent me to get you, because none of the rest of us can speak his language.” Buffy pouted hefting the Slayer Scythe. “Willow said he’s not evil so I couldn’t slay him.”

“Oh dear,” Giles could feel his face going white. He could only think of one sword that would cause someone to pop out of nowhere if drawn. “Please tell me that it wasn’t the sword you are speaking of wasn’t embedded in the wall…”

“Xander said it was, he kept joking about how a sword sticking out of a wall wasn’t up to building code.” Buffy shrugged and cocked her head as Giles sank to the floor in terror.

“Xander… Xander drew the sword?” Giles asked weakly.

“What’s the big deal? I mean it’s a nice sword and all but you’re totally wigging about this,” Buffy asked, confused.

“Xander drew Excalibur,” Giles put his head into his hands and whimpered.

“Who said Xander drew Exwhatever, it was Faith. Oh, hey, wasn’t that the sword from the Arthur show we were watching last night?”

“Oh…Dear…Lord.” Giles refused to think. Faith, of all people, Faith, was Arthur reborn and now the rightful Queen of England.
