Summary: It was the right thing to do. Faith get released from prison thanks to an unexpected party.

Crossover: Assassins Creed

Second story in Altair's Reflection Seires.

When Faith was pulled out of her cell in the early morning hours, she expected another beating from the guards. Instead, she was being released. At first she thought it was some kind of sick joke, but when she was given her old clothes to dress in and ten dollars bus fair and shoved out the doors, she could barley believe. Her heart was racing as the taste of sweet fresh air filled her, and she couldn't help soak it in.

"Are you going to stand there all night? Or can we get going?" A familiar voice asked.

Turning around swiftly, Faith blinked. Then she blinked again. "B?" Faith asked, looking at her sister slayer in shock.

"You expecting someone else?" Buffy asked, a trace of her old self in there, but Faith could see it. Something had changed. Something had darkened the bubbly blond's personality turning her into someone almost unrecognizable.

"You?" Faith asked, feeling as if the world had just turned upside down. "You got me out?"

"Yep," Buffy said, nonchalantly.

"But...but..." The Dark Slayer was having trouble processing it all. "Why?"

Buffy stared at her for a long moment, and the Dark Slayer felt as if those eagle like eyes were judging her very soul. A tiny smile split Buffy face and she shrugged. "Because it's the right thing to do. And you're my Malik," she stated, bluntly.

"Milik?" Faith butchered the name. "What the hell is a Milik? And what makes you think I'm your anything? And what the hell happened to you?"

Buffy rolled her shoulder, easing her tension. "We could have this discussion here...or we could go the nearest fast food place that's open right now and get the greasiest, best tasting burger ever." With that the blonde turned towards her car, sparing Faith a glance over her shoulder with a smirk. "Coming, novice?"

Faith stood there for a split second before following. After all, what did she have to lose?

RRs are appreciated. And yes, I know Malik called Altair "novice", but it's Buffy/Altair's way of accepting Faith.
