A Promise

Riley looked up in shock. There was Willow, with a strange man beside her.

"You really forgot." She sounded disappointed.

The shovel she used to beat him was stuck in the ground next to his head.

"Forgot what?"

"A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend."

Riley winced as the meaning sank in.

He shook his head, confused, "Why aren't I dead? "

"Talk to Mr. Immortal here, if you want an explanation." She turned back to the party.

Riley turned to the tall, dark haired man in curiosity.

He began "I am Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod . . . "
