Title: Duped. . . In Action
Disclaimer: Not mine. JK and Joss, geniuses, me? Just a simple fanfic writer who’s broke
Spoilers: Season 6, after Hells Bells when Anya’s a demon again. Some time in Book 5. (only because I’m using a character from it)
A/N / Summary: 20 minutes with Anya. Let’s just assume some girl got hurt by love, and Anya was summoned there. . . (potentially more, not sure. Feedback would help) Duped. . .In Action
Anya-shitty-made-up-last name looked like a normal woman. She wasn’t, though. She was a vengeance demon, and a damn good one. Or she had been. Halfrek warned her that she wasn’t as good as she had been, but she’d been mortal for nearly four years. It wasn’t that easy, because she wanted to make Xander pay for what he did to her. It wasn’t fair! Why shouldn’t she be able to wreak vengeance on him?
“Anyanka, hon? It’s Hallie!” The brunette vengeance demon said cheerily as she popped into the room.
“Hello, Hallie. What do you want?”
“Well, that‘s a lovely how-do-you-do.”
“We’re not supposed to do lunch today, are we?” Anya asked exasperated.
“No, this is more of a business request.” She plopped herself down into the seat across from her.
“You handle children. I handle scorned women. What could we possibly have in connection?”
“A scorned teenager. She’s British, and hurting. I would handle it, but technically it falls under your jurisdiction. D’Hoffryn wants you to take it.” Hallie said, leaning forward grinning. “Says you need the practice.” Anya had to rise to the bait.
“Where is this?”
Anya sat back. She’d been there before. Years ago, of course. Once or twice in the last hundred years or so. But it was always difficult to sneak into Hogwarts. The castle didn’t like outside magic beings. Now she knew why Halfrek wanted to throw this one on her. She’d been kicked out of Hogwarts once or twice. Once when she was a student, and the other time soon after she was a demon. The castle hadn’t like her then, and still didn’t like her.
“What’s her name?”
“You mean you’re going to try
to get in?”
“Of course, a job’s a job.”
“If you thought it was hard to get in before, it’s even harder now. That Voldemort thing is trying to get in.”
“Please, I can handle it.”
“I’m not so sure, hon.”
“I am.” She grinned for the first time in a long time. “Tell me everything
As soon as Halfrek filled her in, she teleported from the room. Halfrek giggled softly. Boy, was Anya in for a surprise. Her and this Katie Bell girl were in for a big shock.
