One Little Game

Clem never thought he’d be in England. It was pretty nifty to have ties with the slayer. Now he had a comfy job with the Watcher’s council. He was an PR consultant. It worked for him. Right now, he was hammering out the negotiations between the Wizarding community. He smiled lazily at the big man sitting at the end of the table.

“Yer bleedin’ mad.”

“Now, now. There’s no need for that kind of talk. We’re going for peace talks.”

“We’re in the middle of a bleedin War, we are. We need you’re ‘elp!”

“Well, I have to talk to the big lady.”

‘Ah Am ‘Ere, speek to me.” The woman asked.

“No, the head slayer. We’ll have to ask her.” He smiled at the two half giants and the full-fledged giant sitting in the confrence room. “Who’s up for a game of poker?”

“Well.” Hagrid leaned forward, giving him a grin of his own. “It’s been a while that we could just sit back and play a friendly game.”

Clem pulled out his cards and shuffled them. He remembered when he played Poker with Spike, back in Sunnydale. But Spike was gone for now.

“So, we playing for kittens? Cuz there was a time I would play for kittens.”

“’Ow about we play for your side’s coopertation in the war?”

“Ok. Sounds like a deal.” Clem said smiling. There was no way he was gonna loose.

*Two Weeks Later*

“How’d we get drawn into this war, Giles?”

“Clem’s negotiations, Buffy.”

“Remind me to remind you to fire him, Giles.“ She said, hefting a sword.
