Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Buffy the Vampire Slayer nor do I own the rights to Dogma. As much as I wish to claim the rights to both, I am merely a lowly college student scrambling to keep pace with a hectic schedule.
A/N: After season seven of Buffy and after the movie Dogma. Happy Easter everyone.
A Tick in Time...
Anya sulked as she watched her friends talk by the crater that was Sunnydale. It had to be a bad sign when her boyfriend made mall jokes so soon after she had died.
Cut down in the fight of her life against the First by a Harbringer. Add to that the insult of being left at the altar. "My life sucked." She scowled.
"But you lived quite a bit longer then the other's." A voice stated from behind the dark blonde former demon.
"Yeah because I got all vengeful and joined up with D'Hoffryn." Anya reminded turning to face the rude person who had interupted her sulk time. "I was around down there for eleven hundred and twenty-five years. Don't I get some sort of compensation?"
"Well, while your life span is considered lengthy by Earth standards. It is but a few minutes here." The voice replied casually.
"And how do you know all this? You aren't a demon are you?" Anya inquired.
"I am... The Metatron, the voice of God if you prefer. If a mortal were to hear Her voice, their heart would stop beating and their head would explode." Tall, Dark, and Bored responded. "I am unable to..."
"Oh I remember you lot, as perfect as Ken and Barbie." Anya smiled slightly, "I met up with a Seraphim once. She was trying to help some innocents."
"Thank Heaven I don't have to go through the spiel or get soaked. Bethany was quite disbelieving."
"So why did you come to speak with me. I know there has to be a reason." Anya crossed her arms over her stomach and leaned back against the low wall of the viewing pool.
"You mentioned something that interested Her. About how Santa Claus is a demon."
"It's true, met with him in Italy three centuries ago. He had a flair of artistry." Anya paused, "Why do you ask?"
The Metatron heaved a sigh, "The Real Santa Claus is not a Demon. In fact he's one of the lower angel, but he and Her get along well." At Anya's raised eyebrow he continued, "There are demons masquerading as Holiday Spirits. Unfortunately the demon for Easter has started spawning and we need to find someone to stop the demon spawn before things go very badly."
