~ Part 1/1 ~

She plucked the card from the tissue paper around the single tigerlily stem. "Flowers pale, chocolate is bland..."

"What's that Wills?"

"Huh? Oh. It just arrived."

"For you?"

Willow nodded.

Dawn giggled. "It's beautiful. Who's it from?"

Willow's brow furrowed. "I'm not sure. When I was in senior year, dating Oz and stuff, I went to a computer tech convention. It was in Metropolis, sponsored by a company called 'LuthorCorp.' They're researching computer security and mum and dad got me a ticket to go. It was pretty exclusive. There was this guy... Dawnie he was pretty cute even if he was bald..." Willow's face got dreamy.

"Ewww! How old was this guy Wills?"

"About 20 I guess. He was at college. He told me the hair thing was because of a meteor shower when he was a kid. Anyway, beside the point. He was a Biochemistry major and he was so smart and didn't care that I was too. He asked me out to dinner and when I said no cause I had a boyfriend he just nodded and said that he'd suspected I would have. Then he said that compared to me flowers paled and chocolate was bland."

"So you're beautiful and sweet.... Awww that's so, uh, sweet," Dawn grinned.

"What I don't get is how he found me here though... I mean that was 2, 3 years ago..."

"Well, you're research girl. Find him and find out."

"I only have his first name and I'm a little out of practice."

"I can help if you want."

"Thanks," Willow smiled as the pair went to the computers in the dining room. "His name is Lex. He studied at Metropolis University and he studied biochemistry. Come to think of it, I don't know why he was at that convention."

"Doesn't matter now. Let's identify this guy..."

"After I get the door," Willow said, standing and heading out of the room.

"Miss Rosenberg?"

"These are for you. Sign here please?" Willow signed and took the square box from the young man with a smile.

She opened the card. 'You already have flowers. Now you have chocolates...' Signed again with only an 'L'. She opened the box as she re-entered the dining room. "To eat or not to eat?" she asked the teenager.

"I'd eat... Ths is so cute. You have an admirer," Dawn crooned.

Willow popped a chocolate into her mouth and offered the open box to Dawn before beginning her search with the words 'Lex' and 'Metropolis' and clicked the 'I'm feeling lucky' button. The page opened and she swore.

"What?" Dawn asked, quickly moving to stand beside Willow.

"That's him."

"On the cover of People? You should have said yes to dinner Wills."

"Young, rich, eligible and heir. He's heir to LuthorCorp. That's why he was at the convention."

"That solves that mystery then. What are you going to do?"

"I... don't know. Do I call him and ask him if he's sending me flowers and chocolate or do I wait and see what he does next, if it is him that is."

"Call him. Ask him. Carpe diem..."

"Nononono. Last time I carpe'd.... well the last time was Oz and the time before resulted in your sister saving my ass. Carpe-ing is a bad plan."

"I always thought seizing had its benefits."

Willow yelped. "Lex!"

"So, you do know him then." Buffy grinned at Willow. "He was just about to knock on the door when I came home. Introductions Wills?"

"Oh, um. Buffy, Dawn this is Mr. Lex Luthor. Uh, Lex, this is Buffy and Dawn Summers."

"Did you send Wills the flower and the chocolates?"

"Dawn," Willow hissed, clapping a hand over the young girls mouth.

Lex laughed. "Yes. I did."

"They're very lovely. Thank you." Willow smiled at him.

"We need to go and.... change the sheets. Dawn?" Buffy dragged her sister out of the room and up the stairs.

"Would you like a drink or anything?"

"No thank you. I'm fine."

"Ok... um, living room is this way." Willow led him over to the sofa. "So..."

"I had hoped you work it out."

"Glad I didn't disappoint. How could you not mention you're a Luthor?"

"Not everyone thinks that's a good thing."

"I was hoping that we might be able to have that dinner Willow."

"Why would *you* want to have dinner with *me*?"

"Because you're intelligent," he said, shifting himself a little closer to her. "Beautiful," he said, pulling her closer. "Charming and you don't care that I'm rich enough to buy this entire town." He kissed her then, searing her lips with his. "So," he said casually, "Dinner?"

"What's that?" she asked dazedly leaning into him for another kiss.
