~*~*~

"Mum, come on!" Aurora whined, tugging her mother’s hand.

"Patience is a virtue," Dawn commented, frowning at the stickiness of her daughter’s palm.

"Mum, you told me that I could go on the carousel next! You promised!" Rory pleaded.

Dawn leaned down to tuck one of the loose black strands behind Rory’s ear.

"Hold your horses, sweetie. I just wanted to tell you about the time I was on the carousel, back in Sunnydale."

"Well?" Rory questioned impatiently.

"We just moved to Sunnydale and Grandma Joyce rented the carousel for an entire hour. Since I hadn’t made any friends yet, it was just Grandma, Aunt Buffy, and I. It was one of the happiest times of my life." Dawn explained, hugging her daughter.

"Will you ride with me?" Aurora asked, her blue eyes locking with her mother’s.

"I think your Dad would like to ride with you first." Dawn answered, gesturing over towards the left.

There were no words to describe the beauty of the carousel. The sight that greeted her was not what she’d expected. In all of his glory, sat Severus Snape upon the black horse with a smirk upon his lips.

It was a fun night indeed.
