Draco sighed. It was the second day of school and he wasn’t quite back into the routine. He rolled out of bed wondering if the new girl would come to class today. She hadn’t been about anywhere yesterday. The school had been buzzing with students discussing why she’d come to Hogwart’s and why she missed the first day of classes.
Just then there was a clatter on the stairway to the girls’ dormitory. “I’m ok,” Lev emerged rubbing her head, “but whoever thought of putting a winding staircase where people have to walk first thing in the morning should be shot.” She looked up an saw Draco, “Oh, hi. Just tripped on the stairs.” He raised an eyebrow. “Not a morning person.” She added, gesturing to herself, as an explanation. She was dressed more normally today. She was wearing school uniform, if you could call the way she’d combined various items from what most Hogwarts students wore wearing uniform. She was wearing the boys’ trousers, her cloak was folded-up as a boob tube, over this was a girls blouse (untucked and unbuttoned), to top it off her Slytherin tie was being used as a belt.
“Nice uniform.” Was all he could say.
“Thanks.” Lev replied enthusiastically. “Want to bet how long it’ll be before a teacher makes me change?”
“Errr… no.” said Draco. This was one strange girl. “Where were you yesterday?”
“Where was I yesterday….” Said Lev thinking “I was … in bed…sick…must have been something I ate, or,” she shrugged “the amount I ate.” Draco couldn’t help grinning at that. “So,” began Lev jumping off the bottom stair, “Lead on to breakfast.”
As they walked to the great hall Draco was uncomfortably aware of all the attention Lev’s outrageous fashion sense was getting. Lev, however, was enjoying herself, “BOO!” she shouted lunging towards a Ravenclaw first-year. Draco didn’t know if she was acting this way on purpose or not. “You’re nuts, you know?”
“Thanks. I do try.” Replied Lev with mock gratitude.
