Summary: 200 word drabble. How did the Council get custody of potentials?
AN: This was just an annoying little idea that wouldn’t leave me alone… hopefully it’s gone now.
Would it change anything if he said yes when they ask him if he has children? Would it have changed something this time?
No, it would have changed nothing. He has to believe that.
He crouches down beside the gravestone. Faith Grissom 1982-1991 Beloved daughter.
They ask him if he has any children and he lies every time. He doesn’t want to explain to them about Faith, how she disappeared and that the only thing he has left of her now is an empty grave.
His own daughter and he’s never been able to find out what had happened to her. No matter how hard he’s tried. He’s only found dead end after dead end.
“You must miss her.”
He turns his head to see a young, brunette woman wearing black leather pants, a black top and combat boots. Those clothes cannot be comfortable in this climate, especially since this day seems especially hot.
There’s a hard edge to her, her eyes, her stance, her clothes... They all speak their own language.
“Yes,” he answers shortly and stands up.
She looks at him intently. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have interrupted. You just remind me of someone I used to know.”
