An orange-robed initiate walked over to him. “You wanted to see me?

Oz tilted his head. Black hair, green eyes, and well-built, with a smell of “other,” exactly as he had been described. “I have a message for you, from Master Shantou. ‘The time has come to take up your family business. You are needed.’”

Lamont Cranston, named after his great-grandfather, blinked.

Oz gave a half-smile. “You can come with me. I’ll drop you off on my way to California.”
