Angel picked up the phone on the first ring. He'd been expecting the call ever since Willow had called yesterday to grill him about the 'Executioner' and Spike had shown up at the Hyperion spitting and growling and completely uninterested in picking a fight.

"Jean Claude."

"Mon ange," the French vampire purred. "I call to assure you that my human servant is now out of your territory."

"I know," Angel growled. "She has one of my people with her."

"Young Monsieur Harris." Jean Claude paused. "It is unfortunate what has happened. Your Childe seemed overset."

Angel snarled. "My Childe is not your concern. Should Xander be harmed while in outside my territory, Jean Claude, you will answer to me."

Jean Claude was silent a long moment. "You would challenge me?"

"I will kill you," Angel promised.
