“You brought a guy home?” Buffy wasn’t certain whether to rejoice or cry. Although she’d never admit it, she’d miss the sex.

Xander sat back and asked, “Does he at least have a soul?”

“He’s human.”

“Please stop acting like I’m not here.” Daniel looked a little shell-shocked.

“It’s normal,” Dawn cut in. “I’m Dawn. Hurt Spike and be bludgeoned to death with a shovel.”

“I wouldn’t hurt him.”

“So,” Xander noticeably tried to change the subject, “what do you do for a living?”

“He fights aliens,” Spike said cheerfully.

“Secret, Spike,” Daniel stressed.

But Buffy just shrugged. “That’s new.”
