“Grrr,” Drusilla growled, snapping her teeth at her new present. Such a pretty little doggie, even without the hair.

“Lady –“

“Shh,” she hushed him, laying a finger over his lips. “Good puppies are seen and not heard, lest we cut out their tongues.”

She closed her eyes, swaying to his pitter-pattering heartbeat.

What a nice prezzie her Spike had given her. She did so like the silver bow the best. Bright and shiny. It gleamed like blood on snow and covered up the puppy’s naughty bits.

Those were her favorite.

She wriggled her fingers. “Time to open the prezzie.”
