The surface of the lake was calm and blank like a mirror. And as such
Xander was using it. He was looking into the lake, eyeing the results
of Willows latest magical fuck up.

"Just a little spell, my ass," he muttered.

His formerly short brown hair was now long, smooth and silver-coloured.
On his face, high on his forehead, was a blue half-moon and on both of
his checks were two purple slashes. His eyes were no longer brown,
but a amberish golden colour and his ears looked like he was an elbish
extra from the "Lord of the Rings" movies.

Angrily he hit the water-surface, destroying the watery mirror-image
of himself. That only directed his attention to his hands, to the
fingernails that were now talons and the reddish slashmarks, similar
to those on his face.

He growled, but stopped when he noticed how growly his growls were
sounding now.

He was sitting on the porch of his home, watching the young pup
sitting at the lake in his garden. The gods had meant it good with
him when they send the pup straight falling into his lap. He bore
the markings of his family and was a pure dog demon. At first the
pup had tried to deny it, but his own body had worked against him.

Alone, in a time and place he had no knowledge about, the pup had
learned to accept his help and teachings.

And he would teach him everything. Just like his father had once
taught him.

From the strange girl that ran with his half-brother he knew about the
strange tradition called 'Christmas' the humans celebrated in future
times. The girl had left for her time shortly before the pup had
appeared to celebrate this tradition.

Maybe this year he would celebrate it too, for the gods had given
him the greatest gift of all. They had given him an heir.
