Daniel,

What!?!?!

Sam is what!?!?!?

No way is Sam engaged.

You must have heard her wrong. Sam wouldn’t get engaged to someone I’ve never met. Sam would tell me if she were dating someone. She just would, and she hasn’t said a word.

Or is this a joke? ‘Cause it’s not funny, Daniel. And I know no one else who can send e-mail from your computer would tell me something so . . . out there. So why on earth would you slide something like that in the middle of you e-mail?

Sam is not engaged.

Sam barely dates. I bet I could make you blush with some of the things that I’ve heard her say to Mom about her sex life. There is no way that Sam would accept some stranger’s marriage proposal. Sam would tell me if she were in love. I would gag with all the mushy stuff she’d write. If she really were engaged, she would have sent me a picture of her engagement ring.

No mushy e-mails.

No picture of the sparkly ring.

QED.

Sam is not in love.

Sam is not engaged.

So there.

School is fine. I’m keeping really busy.

Too much to do,
Love,
Cassie
