Hey Daniel,

School is going well. All my classes are hard and the competition is fierce. Everyone is so smart! Some of the people in my classes walked in knowing five or more languages –dead languages! Most of them don’t count the ones that are still spoken in some countries. One of the really talented ones is Buffy’s sister, you remember the girl that got me an interview? Well her sister Dawn is really smart. I have seen Buffy around some. Xander and Willow, the two that the college hooked me up with for the apartment, are her best friends. I think Dr. Giles was telling the truth about her being on cold medicine when we first met. She’s not nearly so . . . ?flaky when you get to know her.

Xander and Willow are both really nice. They keep weird hours (and that’s a college student talking). Don’t worry about either of them taking advantage of me. Xander’s fiancée recently died and Willow broke up with her girlfriend. It’s like they instantly adopted me as a little sister and no one told me.

Well, I’ve got hours of research to do before I even start on my first paper.
