Letters from School #23

Murray,

Thanks for the letter of encouragement. It's nice to know you're thinking about me and that you guys gossip about me when the information is good and I'm not depressed or homesick.

Huh, had a sudden thought: do you get homesick? I mean, you are in a very alien culture and your family is far away. Is there one thing from home that you'd like to keep in Colorado?

Anyway . . .

So yeah. I took your and Daniel's advice and applied for the dig. I'm just one of many and I'm competing against some upper level students. Thanks for your encouragement and certainty. Dr. Giles said that the final paper was a huge part in the consideration, so I rewrote parts of it again. Daniel's been a great help.

School is going well, otherwise and I've kept up on my self-defense classes. I think Buffy's learned everything that you and Jack ever taught me, even some stuff that I never really got the handle of. And she's taught me some new tricks that I can't wait to try out on you. If I get lucky, I might throw you off balance once during our Christmas sparring.

Thanks again,

Love,

Cassie
