Dear Murray,
Thanks for the letter. I’m studying hard. Thanks for saying that my mom would be proud of me. I really needed to read that. I think you’d like most of my friends here. They have honor. They do really, underneath all the party and quips, they have honor. Sometimes I see it and then a couple days later, I realize that it was something that you or Jack would do. But it’s so smooth that I don’t realize it at first.
Take last Friday, I was walking with Buffy and Xander and we ran into an ex-soldier. He looked really dejected and he was muttering under his breath about not getting the job. Buffy walked up to him and started teasing him. By the end, the soldier was laughing. Then Buffy held her hand out behind her, where the soldier couldn’t see, and Xander put some cash into it. The money disappeared. The soldier probably never realized what happen until he got home that night. I bought ice-cream for everyone. When I tried to talk about what they had done, they totally denied it. They made a joke about it.
But I knew.
Now you know.
Love,
Cassie
