In a pristine white coat the man at the desk looked up at hearing a knock on his door, recognizing the young woman at his door as the newest SGC employee who had recently been kidnapped. Mentally preparing his self for coddling a frightened and paranoid young woman he spoke, "Hello Dawn. Come in. How are you doing?"
"Still a bit sore when I over do it, but good." Dawn carefully sat down on the large, supposed to look homey chair that instead did a good job of looking intimidating.
"Good? You were just kidnapped! Are you sure you’re not a bit afraid or uneasy?" Convinced that she was saying what a good soldier was supposed to say Dr. MacKenzie tried to suggest it would be alright to admit fault.
"Yeah sure after the first time or two I was kidnapped." Shrugging off the suggestion.
"Surely you don't mean to sound like kidnappings are a regular occurrence."
"I saw you reading my file before I knocked. Does it tell you about my life before I started working here?"
"No. Only your name, birth date, and emergency contact information. You're pretty young to have the job you do." Aggravated at the less than usual amount of information the doctor tried a tactic to get Dawn to talk.
"I've been doing this kind of work since I was about 15. That file doesn't tell you that was the latest in a long list of kidnappings. In fact it takes my kidnappings by non-vampires count up to an even twenty. Before you go yelling vampires don't exist and that I'm crazy think about this, if I was crazy would The President have sent Jack and Daniel to my work looking for a translator for such a top secret military base?"
Pausing to catch her breath Dawn formed her next verbal defense. "Every time I've been kidnapped or threatened I know for a fact that my family will do any and every thing to save me, even sacrificing their life."
"Miss Summers, I would like to.." Taking out a pen and a small pad of paper Dawn interrupted before he could start to write anything.
"I don't care. I like going off world and in order to keep doing so I had to come talk to you. Nothing was said about repeated visits or medication or listening to you. I only had to come visit, I'm doing that. And now I'm leaving to find Daniel and the translation he was waving in my face earlier. Good day."
"Come back here. You can't just walk away from me." Unnerved at the fact that she had just stood up and started to walk out of the office, Dr. MacKenzie tried to use his authority.
"I am not military, you cannot order me around and expect me to follow with out thought. If I wanted I could walk right out of this mountain and not look back. I was asked to help by The President. General Hammond isn't a bad boss and there are good people here. I have at least five job offers anytime I want, and don't try to keep me here by saying the fate of the world is at risk here, there are other threats out there as well." Dawn quickly retaliated.
"Why don't I have an application psychiatrist evaluation file on you?" Attempting one last tactic to put one more person under his thumb, “We need to have a information for everyone who works here.”
"Jack and Daniel picked me up and seven hours later I was on a different planet, there was no time. Good bye Doctor."
