Note: FFA #547 Fred/Professor Utonium

"It's all just so fascinating!" Fred said as she walked up the stairs. She glanced back at the man following her up and smiled. Deciding against joining Angel Investigations in their take over of Wolfram and Hart had been a huge decision for Fred. One that, admittedly, as she looked for other work, seemed to be a bad idea at times. But this lab work looked fantastic, almost too good to be true.

The advancements that this man had made to the world of science was just -- and he was willing to hire her!

Fred tried to hold back the bounce in her step as she paused to open the lab/cellar door. The sight that greeted her on the other side of the door caused her to yip in surprise.

The three daughters that had been mentioned earlier were making a surprising appearance. They were small, adorable little girls...that were at Fred's eye level...lots of empty space between their feet and the floor.

"Ohh..." Fred said, looking between the three girls, "You never mentioned they flew."

"Well, there's that... Girls, why don't you introduce yourself to our guest?"

The girl with long red hair floated forward first, "Hi, I'm Blossom."

The blonde was the next the approach, going as far as giving Fred a quick hug, "I'm Bubbles and I like rainbows and flowers and sunshine and kitties and bubblegum and--"

The third girl, sporting short black hair elbowed Bubbles, "I'm Buttercup."

Smiling, Fred waved at the girls, "Hi, I'm Fred."

"Is she our new mommy?"

"No, no, girls," the Professor said, a slight blush on his cheeks that matched Fred's, "She's my new assistant."

"What will she do?" Bubbles asked.

"What do you think?" Buttercup asked, scowling, "She's going to *assist* the Professor, duh."

"Well, *assist* him doing what?" Blossom shot back at Buttercup with a scowl of her own.

"It's getting pretty late girls," the Professor trailed off, giving the three a stern look, "Remember to brush your teeth."

Fred spun around to the Professor as the girls headed up to bed, "So that was them? That's just -- wow! They're just so -- wow! I mean, you...and the monkey! Moe Joe."

"Mojo Jojo." corrected the Professor.

"Right! He sounds so cute! And evil, which is bad, but cute! And did I mention 'wow'?" Fred babbled on, as she walked out of the room following behind the Professor, "The work you must of--"

"Watch out!"

Fred skidded to a stop, her eyes wide as she looked to and fro, "Wha?!"

Bubbles floated up in front of her, "You almost stepped on Octi." A purple stuffed animal was held up.

"Right," Fred said, checking off the items on her fingers, "watch out for evil monkeys, Chemical X and octopi."

"Octo Pie?" Bubbles asked, pulling a face, "Ewww!"

"Bubbles," The Professor warned, pointing to the clock. Fred and the Professor watched the blonde sulk up the stairs. Turning back to Fred he asked, "Are they going to be any problems?"

"Oh, I don't think so. They all seem so sweet. Plus I have a lot of experience dealing with...odd things."

"So, you'll take the job?" The Professor asked hopefully.

"I think so." Because really, working for a single, intelligent, attractive, human man who was only a handful of years older than her and didn't fight zombies and vampires... That didn't sound like such a bad thing. Nope, not at all.

Fred was startled from her thoughts by the buzzing of a phone that seemed to be upstairs and a flurry of noise. "What in the world is that?"

" see, Miss Burkle..."
